60's tv series and movies

Post by Axis »

I have always wondered why the people in the early colored movies and tv series, like the original series of star trek looked so shiny in their faces, and I came to the conclusion that, at least in star trek they used a device called the perspirator to add extra shine to the faces of the actors.

The studio lights were so hot that they perspired a lot.

Yeah, that's possible, I think it had to do with that, but also the cameras, lighting and studio cooling, which were not at those times so high-end as nowadays.
The lighting does tricks today too, just like Trump, he's orange in the tv.

It might be some kind of subliminal message, that says Trump is a greedy ferengi!

Seriously, he might look a little bland in the tv if those lights were not involved.
Maybe they don't need make-up for him because of the lights.

Actually, they probably were high-end for the time, but the technology was not as advanced yet. Especially lacking was air conditioning. The theaters were starting to install A/C, but the studios did not have it.
