Minor update to All in One will be in the works
Hi Everyone,
with the Tethys updating Galaxy mod there will be an update of the All in one installer
known issues to be fixed
DxWnd shortcut error of Uncivil wars and Galaxy mod (id error)
planned changes
Adding updated galaxy mod
most of my mods I will be adding X Y patch to F2 screen.
if you know of any errors, post them here.
Or if any of the modder's have updates or patches or changes they would like to apply to there mod it would be a good time.
Spocks-cuddly-tribble, do any of your new patches need to be applied to ECM?

Regarding the trojan detection issues, I think it would be great when you can provide an alternate zip package with manual instructions for moving and patching the files.

please explain your issue, is this only with galaxy mod files tethys provides or in general installing all in one?

WARNING - Untested (so I cannot guarantee it won't break anything!) and unfinished (all mods would benefit from fixing AI Command Probabilities).
Adding the X Y patch to F2 screen would be fine, but I don't want the literal mod for the ECM base installation.
All other OPTIONS for re-balanced shiplist, map-sizes, sector size / zoom, and so on, you may add at your own discretion.
Also IIRC we added 'Disabling the chasing ships away / morale-boosting exploit' at your advice, since you said most ECM games are single player. Please reconsider if you still feel that way due to the multiplayer error.
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
In general when installing all in one, and even with old installers I have like the mpr++ one. With the GALM files it has no issues.thunderchero wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 11:38 am please explain your issue, is this only with galaxy mod files tethys provides or in general installing all in one?
It shows already when the installer is launched without it ever showing the installer window.
Possibly it is an issue with comodo only, but it is quite annoying cause when you ignore the alert the install is aborted anyhow. And when you permanently trust the installer it still reports an alert whenever the installer is launched cause it troubles on some generic temp file the installer creates whenever it is launched.
The only way to surpass this issue is to deactivate virus detection during install.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
submit all in one file to Comodo for testing so they can review it and if they find it safe remove it from there blocked list.
this is what I suggest for any false positive like this.
I just tried to use there chat and waited 30 min and no one would even respond in chat.
poor service and would say they are just blocking any file that is not known.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
Well I already sent in the file and service is poor indeed. I also checked the listed files with virustotal and it doesn't report any detection: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/e34 ... /detection not even with comodo
The problem might be that comodo doesn't like an executable to be unzipped to the temp folder or the .tmp file name ending.
Guess I'll have to live with it or move away from comodo.
Unknown files normally is no issue with Comodo, e.g. the galm trek.exe and such was not reported at all, and I had no such issues with other apps yet either.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
Edit;
I forgot about the other folder the installer creates and it does have "BOTF_All_in_One_2.0.0.tmp" (only file in that folder)
But this is the script file every inno installer uses.
from what I understand that file just tells other file what to do (move, copy, run) and when to do task
what is funny is that is not the temp folder that would be used.
example installing ECM it should create this folder
C:\Users\????\AppData\Local\Temp\is-CD2Q8.tmp\ECM
installer does not use "BOTF_All_in_One_2.0.0.tmp"
I don't know if your antivirus is changing folder name or what?
in the past arc_tool.exe and or snd_tool.exe have been flagged since these exe's edit/add files to the alt.res and English.snd by adding single files instead of full files to save space in installer.

Thanks, thunderchero.
I realize it's not part of the installer project, but is there any chance your XY patch and last.sav patch could/will be added to QD's patcher at some point?

the patch file is posted in each topic, just add them to the patch folder and apply with Qd's patcher.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
Hi Everyone,
I may have found an issue with current release of AIO installer, if other members could confirm it would be appreciated.
I am getting CTD on 1024 vanilla (installed with default options), I think this is an compression issue (stbof.res is incorrect size)
what I found to fix this issue was to extract any file with UE then re-add the extracted file with UE and save.
after this was done stbof.res would be compressed properly and load without CTD.
if you can confirm CTD and fix let me know.

Ok, I am confirming the CTD on 1024 vanilla.
I can "export" ship models from the stbotf.res but I am not seeing an "extract" function.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
any file from the stbof.res
with UE edit/other/files
select first file in list "3dacc_on.tga" select extract button on right place file any where "My documents"
next select add on right browse to where you put "3dacc_on.tga" to add
then save

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
How I missed that "other" tab I will never know... I have clicked on everything else in UE.
Ok, extraction and readdition went smoothly, as did saving and compressing. It wanted to "update" trek.exe so I allowed it and game opened as intended.
So I can confirm your above findings, 2.0.0 AIO installs a faulty 1024 version of vanilla and recompressing solves the issue.
Thank you for all of your hard work.

Re: Minor update to All in One will be in the works
On a side note, are there any other tests you'd like run on other mods? I've been thinking about exploring some of the ones I've read about but never played and would be glad to direct my time to answer a question.
