Birth of the Federation

Hi there! Newbie to this site but I have been playing BoTF since it came out in 99. So happy to find this community. I remember being a 13 year old kid going to the BoTF website and reading about all the different classes of starships in the game before it was released. Talk about nostalgia.

My computer skills are limited, I have an HP laptop from 2011 that I play BoTF on. Whichever Version I’m using is very glitchy and although I make due, I’d love to get this game (and any mods/updates) on my newer laptop. Please teach me- give me the ELI5 on how/what I need to do. Thank you so much to the contributors of this site. I thought I was one of the only ones who still love this game and I’m beyond excited to find like minded folk

Ok so I downloaded the all in one, and I believe I followed the instructions clearly. However when I go to launch one of the versions the game will load for about 2 seconds and then close out like it was never there. Thoughts? Am I doing something incorrectly?

sorry you are having issues,
need more info to help you
what all in one version did you download?
what was the install options you selected during install setup
since you are having issues stick to installing the basics "vanilla only"
when you say flash what do you see?
are you wanting fullscreen or windowed.
