New patch uploaded.
I've noticed a couple of issues, but nothing fatal. We will handle them later.

Hi, I have not added the last patch, but I played about 320 turns of Jun16.
My thoughts so far:
- I am OK with minor races change, I had reviewed the 'Minor race advancement' thread
- the problem I pointed earlier (about Intel in case of small population race) rather is caused by a lack of intel building construction by them. I membered two such races with no intelligence and had no room for pop reallocation because of existing structure of needs and buildings.
- the tech level of newly membered races was different, I even got Hirogeans with tech level 8 :)
- I would propose to differentiate significantly some tech levels of some minor, for example Hekarans and Bilanaians could be really advanced in propulsion study, Tholians in energy, etc
- as an effect our short discussion about Meridians, maybe a shipyard construction should be prohibited on Trialus
- I met Borg about turn 290 in Unimatrix01, they still slept definitely too long
- I chose a cluster galaxy this time and other major races did not deal well with that - depending on their location, Cards had 30 systems and Romulans only 3(!!!)

I guess it'll take some time for players to adapt to this (those that have been playing for long).

- the problem I pointed earlier (about Intel in case of small population race) rather is caused by a lack of intel building construction by them. I membered two such races with no intelligence and had no room for pop reallocation because of existing structure of needs and buildings.
They have no purpose for Intel PFs, so they don't build them.

Those are one of the few minor races that start the game at a high(er) TL. It's been like that for quite a while.

- I would propose to differentiate significantly some tech levels of some minor, for example Hekarans and Bilanaians could be really advanced in propulsion study, Tholians in energy, etc
Propulsion wouldn't give them any special benefit. Energy maybe, to give them access to +Energy Buildings and better energy PFs.
But their special Buildings will grant those bonuses, and the empire that members them *will* benefit from those.

- as an effect our short discussion about Meridians, maybe a shipyard construction should be prohibited on Trialus
That would require hard-coding it, which is not very "elegant".

- I met Borg about turn 290 in Unimatrix01, they still slept definitely too long
They were about to wake up  "Fixed" it for Early starts.

- I chose a cluster galaxy this time and other major races did not deal well with that - depending on their location, Cards had 30 systems and Romulans only 3(!!!)
The Roms probably got a really bad starting location. Some day we might need to revisit the galaxy layouts.

For the next release:
- tweaked Borg hibernation period for Early
- maximum number of OBs in a colony can now never go above 25
- Warlike minors might attack nearby colonies (of empires) [still needs work]

Looking forward to seeing how this works out!

Hehe, me too.
In a test game last night, in which I had the Klingons use this code, they did DoW on me (most likely due to this), but the invasion code overrode it and they subjugated the colony instead... they took a COM, a CRU and a DES as escorts. Will test again soon.

The Raider code is working nicely. The Klingons were being raided by a fleet of 10 Kazon Raiders.

Noticed a few issues, will look into them.
There should be a new full release soon.

MWAHAHAHA. Love it

Will this release be a patch or a new full release version? Speaking of which, I'll take it your patch updates are simply copy/overwrite correct? Only reason I ask is after your latest patch the majors were not expanding, none of them. I didn't really test multiple games admittedly (probably just really bad RNG for them) but thought maybe I muffed something up with the patch install. Just tossing it out there.

Wait, shut the front door, you mean minors can actually take systems in this game???

Heh, no, they can't. That part was about the Klingons, not the Kazon. Since the invasion code takes precedence over the harassing code, the Klingons chose to subjugate my colony instead of bombarding it.
Minors are not supposed to have more than one colony (their homesystem), so they don't invade. Or colonize.

The next release (probably today) will be a full release.
And yes, to apply the patches you just overwrite the files. They are always cumulative, so you only need the last one.

Really? I'll have to check.
There was one nasty bug in the previous release where the AI would scrap their warships, but that's fixed - and one of the reasons for the new release.

What do you mean when you say that they are not expanding? That they are not colonizing *any* systems? Not terraforming? Not exploring? ...
I just tested some 30 turns on jun26 and all empires have colonized 1~3 systems, and are terraforming other systems.

Colonizing. Yea they explored and built colony ships and had maybe 3-4 systems by turn 200 but that was the most I could see besides me who had like 20 by that time. But obviously it was something wonky on my end and I should've tested more besides just one game before reporting anything so that's my bad.

It shouldn't be something wonky on your end in particular. It's good that you reported it, if it's been 200 turns. The question is, are you sure they only had those systems?
You could use F12 to lift the FoW, but it will spoil your game - in the sense that you will see the entire galaxy. Or you can PM me your savegame and I'll check it for you.
Thanks!

I didn't realize there was cheats lol. Yea, after that I saw a bunch more systems except for the Roms they only had a total of six. Bad spawn for them it looked like tho. Everything looks good!

Cool!
The Roms get shafted the most frequently it seems. Not sure if it's luck (lack of) or the code having some deeply embedded bias against them
