If you have any questions about the game itself, fire away!

Not sure if you managed to download the game, but just in case, the 1st post in this thread has the instructions.
The current dev version is available in BitBucket (only, for now).
The Combat Engine test version is available in the site I linked earlier (which is also in the 1st page); it is a bit behind the dev version, but not much. You can check more about it, and provide feedback, here.

New patch.

When an empire has over 50% of the galaxy's (empires) population, all other (non-allied) empires get a Regard penalty vs that empire; to turn the heat up a bit
For now the penalty is a flat -10 Regard vs non-Alliance empires. Not sure if other treaties (Mutual Defense, War Pact, Affiliation, Cease-Fire, etc) should have a lower (or no) penalty :?:

Fixed a couple minor diplomacy issues.
Improved a few diplomacy related SitReps (double-click, minimap, texts).
The Offer/Request resources dialog now has different step sizes for each of the resource types, according to their "value".

Tactical Cruisers now have a special ability: they can target multiple ships at once.

The AI should build (more) warships during unopposed expansion, if it has plenty of resources to spare.

The lock buttons in the intel screen are now working.

Sounds like a nice update patch.
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

Per turn, of course!

I think -10 is too much. In such advanced game, after meeting a new minor race, we would get the Regard about 0 in 50 turns.
And I am meeting a double effect now, because majority of my diplomatic actions are ignored now.
I would propose -2 or -5 max.

BTW:
1. Ferengi should have never ignored a latinum gift, maybe other mercantile races as well.
2. If I use a threat of war in my demand and the message is ignored, the war is also 'ignored'.

The penalty only applies to empires! Are you getting it for minors too :?:
And only to empires that do not have an Alliance [specifically] treaty with you.
It was kind of intended that this would precipitate conflict (due to reports of the AI being somewhat passive), but I can tone it down.

I was suspecting that there are proposals being ignored, apparently it is so. I'm not sure what's causing it.
If you have a savegame for 1., could you post it please?
Good catch on 2., I'll check that out.
Thanks!

I suppose I misinterpreted it, anyway it is too early to notice an effect on minors (if exists).
My last save with is attached - almost all my proposals are ignored now.

I suppose the reason for the ignored proposal could be following - a copy from my next turn log.txt:

08:45:09.032 [1] INFO Supremacy.Utility.GameLogManager - Log Initialized.
13:09:01.212 [11] INFO General - --------------- TURN 313 ---------------

13:09:01.970 [11] WARN Diplomacy - The Dominion offered 5000 credits to the Rutians

and of course I got the Out of Memory error. At least the save was OK.

What do you mean :?:

The AI empires are offering credits to minor civs, to improve relations. What relation are you seeing/establishing with ignoring proposals :?:
I'm asking because you might be observing something I'm not - I'm not saying you're not right, mind you, I think it might be worth investigating.

I simply thought that there was a diplomatic competition and some minors didn't need cash, even being overloaded with cash or had better relations with other empires than me.

You mean that minor civs would not actually value the cash being offered to them, since they were being offered so much money, and would thus just ignore gifts?
The AI is not that smart
