Yes, you need to have the full amount of each resource available to start building.
18/0 means you currently have 18 in the pool, and had a net gain of zero of that resource relative to the previous turn (that is, you spent as much as you produced).

Nice, thanks for the quick update. Also I am getting a crash on the Fed campaign now and I think it is because of the Bynars. I submitted a membership to them while they are enthusiastic and the end of their our open borders treaty. However as soon as it ends they declare war while also possibly trying to accept the membership. I kind of cheesed it earlier because they were at war with me but receptive so I payed them (5000 credits) for an open borders treaty, after the cease fire. Guess they never intended for peace to last.

Thanks for the save, found the issue: the Bynars were trying to be at war with themselves... silly Bynars.
I fixed the crash, but now I need to fix another issue; the Bynars can't make their minds up
Will look into it later today.

Was there some specific reason for them to declare war on you?
They're Warlike, so I'm guessing that's the main reason, but their relations with you are rather high. I'll have to check your save a little closer, maybe you're colonizing or building stations too close to their territory?

I have had warlike minors be more trigger happy towards the Feds then other races. The only thing I built close to them was the outpost at the worm hole, after that they declared war and sent what ships they had to the outpost but the outpost alone was enough to destroy their fleet. After that I submitted a cease fire and then since the regard was high enough they accepted an open borders treaty with 5000 credits attached to it.

Yes, that Outpost was what made them declare war. Being Warlike, they tend to want to attack whatever is within their reach.
I'll have to check why they sent an understrength fleet to attack it though...
I'm about to release a new patch, with the fix to this issue you reported, plus a smallish fix to the AI in handling energy.
I've also changed the Maturation Chamber back to OnePer100Pop.
Thanks!

Maybe there will be more functions for the survey ship in the future?

Sounds nice.
I once had this idea about space battles leaving debris in the sector (depending on size of battle), which you could "harvest" for resources or tech.

New patch.
Fixed AI's evaluation when attacking stations, plus some other improvements.
Fixed an issue in AutoBuild.

Definitely like this idea! It would give surveyors another useful trait, like FED says. I also like FED's idea about a race for artifacts too!
Great work Iceman!

edit: could it perhaps give other resources as well? a chance of finding some duranium or deuterium? Probably not dilithium though. Even an abandoned ship?! Could a large enough space battle with lots of destruction create a moon (yeah, I played ogame, so what?;)) in a sector with a system containing planets? Cause planets to change type? This is all probably incredibly difficult to implement though..

Like the U.S.S. Defiant (Constiution Class from TOS) drifting though time, being salvageable by all in the first age (early)?

Hey the6the, happy to see you!
Some good ideas there, yes.

Yes, being able to scavenge a ship could be interesting.
OGame? Man, that was eons ago. Had some fun with that one.
