Is this supremacy different to BOTF2?

So i have been following another group on facebook who are called BOTF2 and the game was always called supremacy, now recently that got changed to Rise of the UFP.

Is this a part of this development or is this another team that used to be a apart of supremacy?

This is the original Supremacy project.
The original team split and went different ways.
AFAIK rebranding the project would require permission from the "owner" of the original code, Mike Strobel.
