Starting a new thread for this to make it more visible:
AIMode (set in the Options panel) now has some effects (still a WiP) when set to anything other than Normal (Impossible modifiers are harsher than Hard modifiers, obviously):
- AI ships will start with higher XP, depending on civ type (added Raider too) and their tech level
- gifts to other civs will have a lower effect (75% and 50%)
- bribing minors that are members of another empire will have a lower effect (2x and 3x resistance)
Feedback on these modifiers needed!
There are 3 settings: Normal, Hard and Impossible. Yep, no Easy setting, that's for wimps :wink:

Ship XP modifers only apply to AI civs, to make it more challenging for human players (at least until the AI gets to be more aggressive).

The gifts and bribes modifiers at this point (for no special reason but simplicity of implementation) apply to everyone, human or not. The AI doesn't offer gifts or bribes yet, but I'd like to know your opinion on this. Should these modifiers only apply vs human players like ship XP :?: That is, should the AI have easier diplomacy regardless of AIMode (when able to use it) :?:

The max size of AI fleets is now also affected by this.

Maintenance cost for unmanned PFs modified by AIMode (Normal 1x, Hard 2x, Impossible 3x).

Added a couple more effects for this:
- effect on Regard when demanding credits
- unavailability period between diplomatic contacts

It now also affects if some minor races (depending on Personality) will hail or not in an engagement.
