Is there a way to make it full screen without the Windows box all around it? You can Watch me play. I will do a streaming test. Here:FrankieDooSpace wrote:

Re: Windows 7 problems/solutions please post them here
I can't seem to install mods at all. Vanilla BotF works fine upon initial installation, but whenever I add files to stbof.res, and attempt to launch BotF, I get the error message "Trex.exe has stopped working." At first I thought that renaming stbof.res into a .zip file to add files with WinRar was causing the issue. (I've had issues with other games where simply changing the file type would make the file unusable when returning to it's original file type.) However, simply changing the file type and making no changes to stbof.res and returning it from .zip to .res causes no issues.
I'm running the game with the CD and no patches. Do the mods on this site require patches to be installed?
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

put your CD in a frame before it explodes and destroys your cd rom (many have reported this)Peelster1 wrote:I'm running the game with the CD and no patches. Do the mods on this site require patches to be installed?
first what mod are you trying to install?
all "multi mods" require multi main installer. (this is full version of game with all patches + backup files to install mods)
full installer download page
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... le_id=1958
multi mod installer page
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... =13&ssid=4
if you are installing mods from this page (out of date files), all are over 8 years old and no longer supported
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... =32&ssid=4
newer mods install to there own install path and is separate from vanilla install.
I also suggest you read first post of this topic for other install suggestions/support.

So far I've attempted to install the Borg Mod and when that failed I attempted to install Borg Incursion V3. Seeing how they are out of date files, are there still any prerequisites? I am unsure if these are "multi mods" or not.thunderchero wrote:first what mod are you trying to install?
Thank you for the link to the multi-main installer. It's a shame it isn't linked in the OP. I do not know what "'software' mode" is, nor how to turn off morphological filtering and crossfire. I have been running in compatibility mode for Win '98.thunderchero wrote:I also suggest you read first post of this topic for other install suggestions/support.

instead of WinRAR I suggest you add file with UE (ultimate editor) this keeps file format correct. plus is a great tool
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... file_id=71
Borg Incursion V3 has both versions manual and multi installer mod
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... le_id=1958
borg mod is only manual install. (some older mods do have other requirements you would need to read the readme)
you will find all/only the multi installer mods on this page.

this page are only manual install mods (plus other files out of date)

we can continue looking at your problem if you want.ststw127 wrote:games running fine with the errors but for some reason i am still unable to get the mods to work. on install it takes me to the reg game
are you getting same errors on mod install?
you said "on install it takes me to the reg game" are you talking the check box at end of install process on final install screen?
if so this is normal that check box is linked only to vanilla install path and should be removed from mod install.
to start mods go to start menu/microprose/"name of mod you installed"/"name of mod installed" or use desktop shortcut if you installed them. or you can go to the install path of mod and run from there "trek.exe"
