Re: Tutorial: How to Download & install BotF & Mods
I need help! Not very tech savvy to say the least!
I am trying to install a mod or two, however, although I have installed the the multi installer "thingy" and the mod seems to install - when I try to open the mod it brings up the installer again? I tried to follow it through a second time but it acknowledges that the file already exists... much confused, please help!

I'm sorry but I'm so confused.
I installed MPR++ and it's work very good. It's solve my problem with Windows 8.
But I don't know how to use MPR++ with the Balance of Power mod.
I saw that I must "edit trek.exe accordingly" but I don't know how.
Thank you for your help.

first you must have balance of power downloaded and installed from hereR_Astori wrote:But I don't know how to use MPR++ with the Balance of Power mod.
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get- ... le_id=1958
then when you run the MPR++ demo installer when you have the option screen select balance of power or balance of power large

I'm not too interested in playing mods (for now), it would just be nice to play multiplayer and not have it crash constantly after 100+ turns. Will downloading "BOTF_1.0.2_English_German_e.exe" achieve that?
If so, do you select Vanilla or Hades?
Much appreciated.

sounds like you might be friends with Frankee, so will we post this.
The new multi installer has many new patches including the official MP patch. this does help but to be honest mp games still has problems with lost packets/sync errors but is fairly stable.
most members will use either warzone or game ranger to connect to other players. but if you know your opponent it is still best to use direct IP. but on modern systems you still need to open ports even for direct IP connection.
when installing I always suggest "vanilla"
hades has proven to be problematic on newer OS's
