The replacement textures were added as part of the hob fix for evade and retreat patch during install.

as part of this patch the hobs, gifs, building screen tga images are replaced.
the hobs are required for hob fix patch, while textures and building screen tga images were replace purely for cosmetic.

Note change for next version, I will separate these patches like so, so each is select-able alone.

"Install hob fix, Replacement hobs only"
"replacement 512 x 512 Model textures"
"replacement ship Build screen tga images"
"gui fixes"
"Install 1024 patch"

i think, i've found some little bugs:
regarding to longer starnames. it looks like, that some GUI fixes regarding to the longer starname problem?
if yes, than i think i have found some bugs:

your posts in:
viewtopic.php?t=831
viewtopic.php?t=1086
mentioned the wrong graphic files to change to give the star names more room.
the right files are ks... and cs..., not km... and cm...
but in the installer the files are correct, only wrong mentioned in the posts.

also, it seems that the wdf files that needed to edit to give the names more space are still not changed. the values at 0xbf are still not E1.
hope i have discovered that right and didn't waste your time with my findings.

one more question: noticed that the new GUI changes also effects *intele.wdf files. are they regarding to the 'empire error fix'? and if yes, kintele and rintele are not effected? cause their changing date is from 2011. or have done more changes to the other 3 *intele.wdf files and thats the reason for their newer changing date?

what version 800 0r 1024? but I have made a few adjustments in last couple RC versions to the starname fix and even to some that has not been released yet, but will double check before next release.

yes, changes have been made to this patch from original patch. I noticed the 1024 patch did not have many of the GUI fixes. :shock:

Just wondering weather there is a working MPR++_demo_installer_0.2.6c for UM5 as its not working great on windows 10?

brings the usage of the higher resolution textures (512x512) any disadvantage (performance or stability etc.) in comparison to the 256x256 textures? or do i need to change the hob files? want to import/use some of the new 512x512 textures from the RC5 installer in a mod.

exists a "super" ship pack with all the new made ship models/textures together? just looked around but find nothing in the ships section.

new models in download section "ship packs" all are 256 x 256, but use multiple textures on most models.

a few very old models I still have some of the original 512 x 512 before they were converted to 256 (very few)

New multi installer release now available.

note changes from RC4
on replacement model textures option, textures that are no longer used but still present, the palettes were corrected.
adjustment made to GUI fixes on both 800 and 1024 versions
correct size image added to alt.res (ending images) for 1024 version
