What have you already tried to solve the problem?
- Making a shortcut for the game exe and making it run in maximised mode
- Turning GPU Scaling on in Radeon panel (albeit I didn't restart after that)
- Some fiddling in DxWnd "modify" option
Detailed description of your issue
DxWnd Fullscreen used to make the game run in fullscreen despite me having a widescreen monitor with 1920x1200 resolution set. Now, however, it stopped stretching the window to fill the whole monitor, and instead it starts up as a "window" in the upper left of the screen. I say "window" because it doesn't have the upper bar that normal windows have, it looks like it tried to go fullscreen and failed - and also while it is active, my coursor cannot leave this "window" and I have to alt-tab to get my mouse to move on the whole screen. What is more, after clicking through the intro the main menu buttons are all unclickable, they do nothing when I try to click them. Also, it's happening whether I use DxWnd fullscreen or if I try to start the game up directly by its exe. I am not sure what might have caused the issue, perhaps a driver change?

Re: Fullscreen doesn't work and makes the main menu nonresponsive
running trek.exe directly bypasses DxWnd completely
tests for more info
1. open DxWnd.exe from tools\dxwnd_windowed folder and exectute installed version to see if game runs properly in windowed mode.
2. open DxWnd.exe from tools\dxwnd_Fullscreen folder in "tools" tab select "clear compatibility flags" and execute installed version.
3. re-install everything (backup any saved games you may want to continue first)
questions
1. has game been re-installed since it was last running properly?
2. what version/mods are installed
3. what resolution are those version/mods installed using?
4. what is current Radeon software version. (I need to update and test mine I guess if you are running 18.5.1)

Re: Fullscreen doesn't work and makes the main menu nonresponsive
I just updated Radeon software, and it looks like they did it again they have remove 1366 x 768 as display option.
so you have 2 options run in windowed mode or roll back video driver.
last time Radeon did this it took many months and many user complaints before they added back 1366 x 768 option.
if you check "display adapter properties" "list all modes" 1366 x 768 is no longer listed.

1. has game been re-installed since it was last running properly?
- nope
2. what version/mods are installed
v2.04.32 version of DxWnd. there are lots of mods installed but I was conducting most trials on the vanilla.
3. what resolution are those version/mods installed using?
I'm not sure how to check. It covers up ~2/3 of the screen's height and width when I'm running 1920x1200
4. what is current Radeon software version. (I need to update and test mine I guess if you are running 18.5.1)
Driver Packaging Version 17.30.1091.1011-170922a-318486C
Game runs properly in window mode. I don't see a "tools" tab in dxwnd. Not reinstalled yet but I will try, is just installing a second instance on a different drive enough?

it is a Radeon driver issue. no further testing is needed.thunderchero wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 10:22 am I just updated Radeon software, and it looks like they did it again they have remove 1366 x 768 as display option.

Damn. Thank you very much for your time. Do you have any idea what version of drivers was still compatible with the proper resolution?thunderchero wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 1:57 pm

last one that worked for me was 17.11.2 but not tested if re-installing works.
