All in one 1.0.1 UCW issue

Hello,

I am playing ucw on the alll in one 1.0.1 installer and its going quite well.

for some reason when i attack the quonos with over 100 ships the population does not budge? i have attacked other systems but it is as if quonos is immune.

Any ideas?

sorry if this is in the wrong place. thanks for all the hard work the all in one installer is brilliant!

I would need a saved game the turn prior to assault and info on install.

Don't forget to zip saved game before attaching file

but if you had made any edits/changes this might not help to resolve issue if it is even possible.

many thanks for taking the time to look.

I have liberated 2 minors so the games has let me attack a planet. but for some reason quonos and now a home system does not loose population when attacking. it destroys the orbital battery's but no matter how many turns attacking the population will not reduce.

all in one 1.0.1 ucw large galaxy

i have zipped instead of rar. it appeared to be ok on my download.

the resolution is 13xx i cant remember exactly. its the highest one available on all in one.

I am not sure of what you are doing, if you are doing scorched earth or trying to subjugate system?

but either way you are using the wrong type of ships I built and only assaulted with 28 heavy strike cruiser and 11 troop transports and took system on first try.

It does not say in image but lost 103 million population

I don't know if this will help or not. but strike cruiser have much better bombardment ability's

wow!!! I just noticed 4 troop transports left to maintain order I think that is the highest I ever seen.

i have always just used whatever ships i had near the system. i was trying to knock out their home system but wasnt making a scratch. i will give it a go with strike cruisers. cheers

sorry to bother you again.

It is still the same for me? i have built 36 strike cruisers and the population does not go down when i am attacking?

i have tried to reload the install but it makes no difference.

the cruisers are at DMZ system in the middle of the house of duras

Might be a native BotF bug:

I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

i probably did something wrong but the game is extremely slow and jerky after applying that change.

i could attack systems properly before in this game and i did try to apply the latest turn processing patch with out any luck. i fear i may have broken my save?

thanks for your time i will start again i think

I suggest you reinstall also if you have not already.

I did look at your saved game and SCT looks to be right after every assault I made it still had 1 orbital. This maybe due to the extra structure "orbital controller". late in the game it give a large bonus, but I would expect it to do more damage to ships.

Plus Maquis has 2 major ground resistance structures (DMZ)

I know you want to do scorched earth but troop transport did help. you just lost mass amounts of them and have a chance to subjugate system.

also this mod was never really completed or tested very well

BotF cannot handle more than one type of 'Anti-Ship Defenses' structure, hardcoded at many locations by OB building ID.

However, it shouldn't be too hard to modify trek.exe for suchlike features, just time consuming.

IIRC there is no subroutine cumulating the system output of (powered) buildings by output ID. Instead similar codes are spammed a thousand times over trek.exe as part of other functions (oftentimes bugged).

Changes like this should better be done via dll or CC code injections. Albeit BotF's intricate file structure would not save that much time, and QD's easy methods were not reliable at loading trek.exe at the prefered address (i.e. a big no-no for advanced mods).


Multiple ground combat bonus buildings however shouldn't cause issues.

I thought those patches were all sort of buggy?
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

Tried another game got to turn 280 ish and it’s done it again!!

I have not done anything to this install and it was a fresh install. Fresh game.
As it appears it’s only me to be getting the bug. Must just be in this version of ucw maybe?

I don’t recall the old ucw doing this.

it never was a popular mod, and never got much testing I will try to take a look at issue.
