How to clear\set "compatibility flags"

compatibility flags are needed to play BOTF, but some older compatibility flags may also prevent game from loading.

You can clear/set compatibility flags 2 ways

Manual clearing/setting of compatibility flags with regedit.exe

open regedit.exe (C:\Windows\regedit.exe)
navigate to;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
each mod you have installed should have an entry. each entry should only have data value of;
DWM8And16BitMitigation

Clear/set using dxwnd and reinstall

open Dxwnd GUI in tools/dxwnd/dxwnd_windowed/dxwnd.exe
select the mod you are having issues with.
select tools tab
in dropdown select "clear compatibility flags"
uninstall mod
then re-install mod

reinstalling will set only needed compatibility flags.
