(Download) ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.4.0

Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
Are there any new updates on this mod? and is there a way to have it linked to this site instead to where it is now?
Re: ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
I second this... the site that hosts this file is terrible. My download finishes incomplete and the install can't start, or it gets stuck at like 57 megabytes and won't continue :/tacko007 wrote:Are there any new updates on this mod? and is there a way to have it linked to this site instead to where it is now?

Yeah scratch that last post... It worked finally. But serious question is there a "small" version of this mod?

Not to my knowledge. The idea is for epic large games that take a looooooong time to finish.nx2000 wrote:Yeah scratch that last post... It worked finally. But serious question is there a "small" version of this mod?

This was by far the best roleplaying game of BotF I've ever played. I miss these days of playing with you guys :-(

Hey all, just an update. I am digging through all my files this week. With any luck I might find a version of this mod thats not too old.
As for the Romulan torpedoes, they are meant to be that strong to be a plasma torpedo from the TOS Balance of Terror episode.

Just a quick update on map sizes, around turn 80 this map starts crashing, then crashes every few turns after reloading. Not a viable option, but the turn times seem to be ok even up to turn 100+
The new GALM will feature a much more dangerous galaxy full of map objects too (nebulae, pulsars, cosmic fragments), unless they lag and crash the game more.
And here is a randomly generated spiral galaxy for your viewing pleasure.

This + Mpr and it woud be perfekt ^^

Sorry to hear the uber-large map size doesn't appear to work, Tethys. Odds were probably against it working in the first place, but I like that you tried.

Next update will have size adjustments. Probably only slightly larger.

Hmm, apparently the bug is not due to map size but actually due to the Summary pop up after turn completion, if the selected sector is in a sector with an anomalous (nebula, pulsar, etc) object and the Summary screen is pulled up (either manually or automatically), the game crashes.
I have no idea how to fix it other than just making sure not to click Turn or pulling up Summary when you have anomalous object selected on your map
(click to an empty sector before pressing Turn or pulling up Summary screen to avoid this bug)

I warned you 1024 should only be a patch, I would not doubt if it is 1024 related.Tethys wrote:Hmm, apparently the bug is not due to map size but actually due to the Summary pop up after turn completion

Re: (Download) ST:BotF Galaxies MOD v0.3.0a
Its possible. At first I thought it was the backspace mod that QD sent me in PM the other day (still having combat crashes unless I press backspace to reset camera view after pressing turn in combat)
Although its too late now to revert back to 800 mode, because too much GUI work has been done and 1024 looks so much better. Botf was never a stable game anyways, Im sure this will get fixed over time.

one thing I thought of later was you stated;
If what you said can be repeated every time.

this might be important info to fix 1024 "random" crashes maybe it is not so random? or this might just be part of random problem?Tethys wrote:I have no idea how to fix it other than just making sure not to click Turn or pulling up Summary when you have anomalous object selected on your map
