hi,

i played GALM for a while aaaaaaaaand its awsome.

sadly there is a but, i noticed that romulans and klingons have far to weak outposts and starbases, they are worth nothing, so i thought i can change that. driven by the success i wanted to make some other minor changes in the buildings section - and here the problem. when i want to save the changes (I use the ultimate editor v0.7.1; i know there is a v0.7.2x but it cant be downloaded ) i get "Error: Missing basic scanner available to all races." and i dont know how to fix this, nor what it exactly means.

i mentioned that it could be the sensor grid, because the federation isnt allowed to build it, so i allowed it, but then i get "Error: Failed to delete file: stbotf.tmp"

i absolutly dont know what to do :(

beside that, this mod is what i haved dreamed 4 so long. Borg <3

Hi all,

I clicked on the link to download the mod and it took me to this, frankly speaking, very dodgy looking page that had about 4 different 'click here' banners on it.

Could someone please tell me whats safe?

Many thanks in advance.

It's a nice fun mod, love the scale of it..wish the other powers were as polished as the Federation is though..

Just been having a go at the mod.

Lots of good stuff in there but there still seems a lot of work to do on it. (using Dominion as an example)

I think there may be a few too many ship classes per race. Im all for variation but a Galor class destroyer AND a Galor class cruiser? It may be in the show, but I think it is a) a bit redundant and b) only really speaks to the show being unable to scale their ships properly & use correct naval designations.

There are a few other things I don't really get either- eg a Dominion attack ship only takes 1 less turn to build than a whole battlecruiser!? Am I missing something here? And the cost & maintenance of starships seems to need some balancing too.

There are still quite a few text issues, minor still need to be finished etc etc as well.

Hello everybody,

I have installed the Main Multi 1.0.2 and then installed the galaxies mod. I can start the game, select a race and the game loads - all good.
But as soon i want to do something the game breakes and it doesn't say. 'm runnig on Windoas 7, but set the compatibility on Win 98. My other version with my own modifications runs good so far. Is there something else I need to install first?

no

1. this mod has very large maps and will crash on map load. You must allow movie to run completely
2. this mod uses untested code changes and is a little buggy
3. this mod is no longer supported by developer.
4. this mod was released as "alpha" and never updated

have sometimes crashes when trying to start a game.
seems to have to do with the starting position!?

common error for galaxy generation, allow video to run completely. Tethy pushed the limit on all code changes so this happens more often on galaxy mod.

Greetings everyone!

Sorry it has taken so long, but during the quarantine I've been able to find some time to do an update! I have even fixed the Alliance button bug that has been persisting for years with the help of TC of course.

Notable changes: 1024 GUI. Rebalanced cloaking empires ships stats. Way less shielding now, Klingons having stronger hulls, Romulans having stronger weapons. Also rearranged ship upgrades for Romulans and Dominion. Added a few low level ships that were missing before for most major empires. Nebulae have been heavily adjusted, the old Cosmic Fragment is now a second Nebula type (I will leave the rest for you to discover though). Vendetta mode is recommended, empires will start with appropriate hostilities toward each nemesis and the Borg Collective. Borg AI will use colony ships to expand (otherwise expansion breaks) as well as by conquest, but I have disallowed the player to terraform or colonize systems to force player conquest, so building any Borg colony ships is pretty useless; go subjugate someone. Borg ships are powerful, but expensive, and most have only 1 hull point, but I have adjusted shielding to compensate (for regenerative purposes). Borg + Nebula = Resistance not futile. You will die. Cardassians are also a Minor race now, but Dominion still acquire some of their ships in later techs (for immersion). Minosian EP607 has been replaced with Derelict Station (Empok Nor) however there is a known bug that the starbase will still move around in combat, even with 0 agility. I may have to directly replace Echo Papa subroutine code with Edo God subroutine code to get a stationary effect. In a later update I hope to look at adding an Edo God (Nor Starbase) to the Cardassian minor race. But now I am just babbling about things unrelated to this release...

DxWnd mode STRONGLY recommended for this latest version! (comes with AIO 2.0.0)

Without further ado: Galaxies MOD v0.3.6a

To do list: Too much still.. replace lexicon, some buildings graphics, some ship models still needed...

I only gave it a quick try but runs well so far!
Really great work on the mod Tethys!

The main trouble I had was Comodo complaining and crashing the AIO2 installer even if ignoring the generic trojan detection a dozen times. With so much trouble possibly we should provide alternate zip releases that include the necessary install scripts or some manual instructions. On the other hand Comodo bugs me for so long already, possibly I should check for another anti-virus app.
