Yup that's the exact one I got - I dl-ed it again - reinstalled just to be sure - and it still does not have the required DLL-s...
Extract it to an empty folder.. check it.
Anyhow I could duplicate the vanilla folder, and copy the .res, and the exe file over - but last time I did that I got the other mod's loading screen - so it probably won't work..

All I get in the file when I install is the res file, the exe and the uninstall files. No DLL's.I just downloaded file and worked fine.
I don't know if that is the way it is supposed to install. (I do have my BOTF installed in a folder other than default)
So what than, I just make 2 duplicates of the B5 .res and rename them english.res and german.res? (besides putting all the other stuff (dll's etc. in the B5 folder too?)your main multi installer backup files are english.res and german.res

Multi installer uses the english.res or german.res (most mod only have english version so they would use english.res)
The backup res files (english.res and german.res) should always be located in the original install path you selected to install multi installer. all mods read your reg setting for multi installer location to locate these files.
so you should have both backup files in your selected install path of the multi installer only.
If you want to check your reg setting you can look at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microprose\Star Trek: BOTF\install path
the value used there should match your install path.
if backup files are missing from your install path you will need to uninstall all mods first then uninstall multi main installer and then delete the BOTF folder if is not deleted by uninstaller then reinstall.

also when installing mods I suggest some thing like this:
example
multi install path
E:\games\BOTF
any mod install path (mods must be installed after multi installer)
for babylon 5 mod
E:\games\BOTF\B5V2 (use original mod folder name from default install path and need to be different for each mod installed)
for UDM
E:\games\BOTF\UDM
and so on for any mods you install it is unlimited to how many mods you can have installed at the same time.

My backup files are where they are supposed to be.
And every other mod, and the multiinstaller works just fine.
The B5 mod does not install anything other than the main B5 res, and 2-3 other files.
Every other mod installs a multitude of files.
Is that supposed to be that way?
And how do you fix it? Is it enough to make a copy of the B5 .res file and rename it english.res?

Yes it should create many files when mods are installed. This is normal.astrotrooper wrote:My backup files are where they are supposed to be.

as for B5 mod when it is installing it is not locating the backup files I have no idea why.
You can try this do not uninstall B5 mod or reinstall it.
next extract the english.res to the folder B5 would use.
then reinstall B5 mod ignore the warning folder already exists.
let me know if this works
also could you post location and folder name you are installing main multi and all mods to see if I can duplicate problem.

Aha... I thought the install process was a little too short..as for B5 mod when it is installing it is not locating the backup files I have no idea why.
Ok - I think that did it - the game launches with the B5 screen..extract the english.res to the folder B5 would use.
then reinstall B5 mod ignore the warning folder already exists.
Should work now. Thanks for the assistance.
My install folder for BOTF isalso could you post location and folder name you are installing main multi and all mods to see if I can duplicate problem.
C:\Games in use\ST BF\botf
For the B5 mod destination folder is/was
C:\Games in use\ST BF\botf\B5V2
All the other mods installed without problem.

good but strange. this is not the recommended way to install.astrotrooper wrote:Ok - I think that did it - the game launches with the B5 screen..

just a note using folders named this way will prevent multi player game play.astrotrooper wrote:My install folder for BOTF is

spaces will stop multi player games from loading.
you might want to re download B5 mod it should work fine. you may have a strange corrupt download. (if you have not done this already)

It works OK. (and I don't play multiplayer anyway. )
BTW. how do you adjust ship size for models that don't show up on UE? (other than extracting them manually renaming them a stock ship and pluging them vanilla and adjusting them with UE - that method would defeat the purpose since you couldn't plug them back into the mod without losing the size change)
I thought of that, I DL-d it 3 times - have 3 separate copyes - all produced the same result.you might want to re download B5 mod it should work fine. you may have a strange corrupt download.
