sounds like one of the main energy buildings output was set to 0

while testing some with mpr++, me and thunderchero found a bug with vanilla botf (also in non-mpr++), here's crash:

this one happend when I had assigned assault command to my romulan battle cruisers on 2nd turn while thunderchero only had cloaked ships left.
When I assigned evade it didn't crash, we tried a couple of different settings.
That crash seems to be pretty repeatable.
Would be great if someone can fix this. I put save on side.

p.s. doing a quick search I found Tethys stumbled on that error before: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=126&p=17511&hilit=t ... ity#p17511

That's a known issue with invalid commands (maintained, default or selected via tactical cheating, see below) resp invalid target lists for them:

EDO GOD

cloak command + tactical cheating

Fixing is no easy task ie. code cave with two target list checks (phaser/torpedo due to intricate coding) in order to change/prevent invalid commands.
On the verge of a nervous breakdown? Try the relaxing tribble sounds.

well then I put it in mind for later time to cave that beasty commands, might give some new interesting options like group targeting and such. :roll:

Hi,
as i saw, the Crash i had has been know already, but i couldnt find any solution for it. So i would like to ask if there is any way to get it fixed :)

The crash happend while i was fighting Card- and Romships as a Fed. I have the All the Ages Mod with the Resolutionpatch installed. Instalation was done Standart (i.e. "Software", etc.). No chnages were done afterwards.

Hey, me again. Got something new, or not...either way.
I got an error during combat, where i chrashed to Dskt..
Since the error message is pointing at trek.exe, i thought i might share. This error happens from time to time.
The translation goes sth like this:
"The command in "0x2000d96a" references to the Memory in "0x020baa50". The process "read" could not be realized on the Memory."

Since alot of you are well educated in Codeing, i thought this might tell you sth..

As with the Post above, i would rly appreciate any help with those, since they make it almost impossible to have a "normal" Game in which i could not only enjoy the "build-up", but also the combats that occur.

cele,

As stated before in other posts the 1024 project is experimental, since release it has been noted that many video cards are having this type of crash (second one) and there is 2 options

1. go back to normal install (800 x 600)
2. install MPR++ (this will slow down combat in large battles)

your first post sounds like a random combat crash during 3D combat. and also no fix.

Thank you alot for you helpful answer. Guess i will have to stick to mpr++, and if that doesnt work, to 800x600 :(

So its because of the video card. To bad, its such a nice thing :/
Do i have to uninstall 1024patch, or can i just install the mpr++.

1024 does not have an uninstaller but yes you can just install mpr++ over 1024, but to go back to 800 x 600 you would have to uninstall what ever you installed 1024 on.

what have you changed or tried to edit?

It looks like a solor build screen error.

Does this happen first time you go to build screen?

does this happen for all races?

I was editing some morale settings for the Dominion ( like to do that at times). After picking the saved game it would start to load then the gamed crashed. Unfortunetly, I accidentally saved another game over that one oops. Thats why you shouldn't play and drink beer at the same time. Thanks for answering anyway. I like the newest UE version pretty cool.
