editing music.snd

Post by Kurn »

hi everyone! :)
I have a problem with editing music.snd. I wanted to replace 129.wav (a romulan battle music clip which I don't like) with 124.wav (another romulan battle music clip), but oddly the replacement changed the whole battle music with other major races. I tried it twice with UE. same result.
has anybody an idea?

I have never messed with those music files myself.

I am guessing you extracted 124.wav then re-named it to 129.wav the added it back by using replace button when 129.wav was selected.

Exactly. I did the same procedure many times with german.snd and had never problems.
I don't understand why it doesn't work with music.snd.

It works! Thank you thunderchero!
I think the music in BotF is great. The composer did a fantastic job, but I never liked 129.wav. It plays the melody from the TOS episode 2.01, when Spock is on Pon Farr and tries to kill Kirk on Vulcan. The melody is alright, but I never liked the sound in this special music file.

Just one more thing UE has issues with, unfortunately I doubt UE will be fixed.

I was surprised the command line tool I use for All in One installer added file properly.
