Reducing Majors to Minors

Hi Guys,
I am back from hiding :razz:

just a quick question, I am looking for a way to limit the major empires expansion.

I want to create a game where you can focus on exploration and research, building famous named fleets without worrying about combat. Basically I want to relax while playing.

The only way I can see at the minute is to create several stbof.res files which hampers all but one empire by cutting down their shiplists and limiting their colony ships to 0 speed. I tried removing their dilithium, but they simply allied with minors to overcome this.

Have tried to set their colony ships speed to 0, but it crashes every time

A late suggestion: Edit with UE the population of all majors to 1 and edit their pop growth rate to the slowest (except yours).

You can also set the minors to non-space faring (no dilithium) but then you might have a harder time supplying your shipyards with necessary Dilithium. You can increase the number of Dilithium the refinery produces, so not much of an issue, as you could still find free systems with Dilithium present.
