Hi and welcome back to the site. You can very easily change any Mod to behave like that, in that you use UE to alter the upgrade chain.

...or there is a solution in the modding forum to allow upgrades such that the ships don't upgrade but the list removes previous entries.

Vanilla is probably the most stable, thats what I use... Hades 1.1 and 2.2 just make the graphics look better, but sometimes it crashes during combat or in ship research screen. You just have to see which one works best for you! Good luck!

Thank you, this is awesome!

BTW, there is a "few more info" link now for the new "Error Correction mod english/german"
viewtopic.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=535

This link however is not about this mod, but the old 2 mods.

Multi BOP 1.1c English
Multi BOP 1.1c German
Also dead links, the original thread shows version 1.2b to be the latest version, although it does not have an installer (and a rather involved install procedure)

All the links in the download section are up-to-date, so maybe we should just post that:

thanks for the link ketteringdave, and thank you thunderchero as well.

@thunderchero: you also removed the instructions on how to install it or what it actually does. This thread was a godsend as it explained what is actually going ON in the download section (pages on pages of files which do who knows what...

my suggestion is to alter the first post to read as following:

Code: Select all

Hi Everyone,

The updated multi installer files are ready.

With this post I will try to explain all about the new files that are now available.

First, all the files can be found here: https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/botf/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=6

The new installers will setup multi installs of BOTF on your system. That are all playable without uninstalling then reinstalling mods when you want to play a differant mod.

All patches are already part of multi main installer.

These file will also reduce the chance of corupt installation when installing mods when user has edited main install.

here is an example of my desktop and start menu.

Step 1: Install the Main installer "1.0.2"

This file is required for all other multi mods, and must be installed before installing any mod.

This file contains the full game, pre-patched to latest version and including the XP compatibility fix (for windows XP, vista, and windows 7). It offers an optional choice between the vanilla combat graphic engine or two replacements, and all the technical modification necessary to run mods.

Step 2: Install any of the multi mods you want. They will utilize the main installer. Each of those has its own balance fixes, bug fixes, and potentially new content.

thunderchero
Interestingly, your original instructions indicated that you must install:
1. Main Multi Installer 1.0.2
2. Mod Multi Error Correction mod english/german
3. any other multi mods

but I don't think that the multi error correct mod is actually required, as it installs in parallel to the others.

I love what you guys did with all the mods and the multi-installer! Good job and a HUGE THANKS for streamlining the installation process with mods. It has revived my interest in BotF again! Sleepless nights, begin! :D
