Multi-Game/Mod Installer Project updated 4-9-2009

Well, when i started modding, i got the cardassian ships on and had the error once.
I dismissed it as a random crash (as they happen with this game) then got the federation ships on.
Several of them sent me back to the desktop, so i binned what i had done and put the unmodded version back on.

So I looked at the cardassian ships on the unmodded version and had more trips back to the desktop.

I just thought i'd post what's going on in case it's just me with a corrupted download or something like that.

stardust,

went back and checked all ships in research screen and screensaver no crashes. Are you already using software in 3D setting? Some one else had same problem on UDM. software setting fixed problem.

also check some of the ships in ship pack with no crashes.

sounds a bit like the problems i was having with excemptions and breakpoints etc previous in post.

tried 10 games since with delta mod and get it each time and reinstalled it rew times, cant go 5 turns without it doing it.

the 1.0.3 mod is working fine for me but not the 1.0.2. that seems to do the same thing as with delta mod but less frequent.

hmm, I'm pretty sure i selected software when installing, but i'll go back and double chack after work.

EDIT: double checked and i've got it set to Software, like i usually do.
hmm, i'll take the whole ting off and re-install it later on, see if that'll cure it.

EDIT2 : Good news, un-installing and re-installing 1.02 and 1.03 seems to have cured the problem I was having

Bad news, i'm getting nowhere with adding ships, even with DCER's latest Editor and the most recent version of the UDM ship-packs, wish i had some info to give you, i did the cardie ships and ever time i try view them in research it's back to the desk top and nothing in the crash log either.
It's not like it's i don't know what i'm doing either, i've been able to put ships on dozerns of times in the past without incident.

When I try to download the Multi Installer my Browser Freezes and the Page comes up as a different format but no download.

try right clicking on link and select save as.

some browsers are having problems.

sorry missed your edit. did you ever figure out problem?
I just added all cardassian ships without any ctd when viewing in reseach screen.

are you using 0.6.8b or 0.6.9dev1b I used 0.6.8b?

No, i haven't, I downloaded the latest UDM Ship packs the other day, but i've downloaded them again just in case it was a bad download, and I'm using UE 6.8a ...wasn't aware 6.8b was out and about.

So i'll re-install 1.03 again then use the newer UE and ship packs over the weekend at some point and se how i get on.

I can't download this! My disc blew into a million pieces in my drive a few days ago, so I finally sat down and figured out the whole image and daemon tools thing- The game works on my vista system- vanilla.
When I try to downlaod any of these downloads, I get a screen that looks like a poker game gone mad.

I use opera as a browser.

Help, please!

Ah- it works with Internet Explorer.

Thanks anyway- Oh, and hello everybody.

I've played this game for years but was never really able to figure out this modding stuff. What you guys have done with the game sounds incredible- The Dominion, new ships- all of it.

All I've ever had was the eplanet mod from Joker- which is cool- but.

Let's see if this all works.
