hey guys, i know about the print-screen then pasting into mspaint, but is there a hotkey to create screenshots without that hassle? (Or a image program I can have loaded in background that looks for a 'boss' key to do the job instead, like fraps has ...
*slaps face* I'm such an idiot., FRAPS' screenshots instead of videos. I'll go try... hmm..

I use att (ati tray tools) to do some screenshots. you can setup lots of hotkeys for countless settings with it.
hey but don't install it if you don't have an ati graphics card.
yea sounds perhaps funny but I remember one guy who did after I told him how cool this prog is with all its awesome gadgets including this screenshot thingy.
no offence Kingy

A bit trivial but I thought I'd mention it.
Just realized that if you hit "i", the screen will center on the column you had chosen. Equivalent to LMB doubleclick.
I have to admit it's kinda fun to play with "HJKL"+"I". plus I also try to use the mouse as less as possible due to crash related issues.

Re: Hotkeys
I just tried some more keys in tactical combat:
f1 to f5 sets the view to one of the defaults, backspace sets bach the view to initial position,
space if camera is already centered on a ship, center camera on own leader ship?
enter/return if camera is already centered on a ship, center camera on enemy leader ship?
tab lets you loop through all ships, centering the camera
p sets back camera placement & orientation [if not centered on ship?]
m switches the camera move mode
in normal mode:
arrow keys + 2,4,6,8 on numpad rotate camera
del + insert clears centering on ships
in 2nd mode:
arrow keys up/down + 2,8 on numpad to zoom
arrow keys left/right + 4,6 on numpad to rotate left/right
del + insert rotate up/down
this some kinda weird buggy rotation + zoom bound to the center point
might be due to a bad implementation of euler rotation,
I dunno but remember once having had similar issues in my first programming steps with ogre
i + o for zoom in and out
l to view status information (mini bug, status button doesn't get updated if using shortcut)
t to view framerate
on replay:
s to pause (stop)
p to play
r and page down to get ~4 sec back
f and page up to get ~4 sec forward
+ to increase playback speed, - to decrease playback speed
pos1 to reach playback start
end to reach playback end
with this you can catch any moment of combat,
r and f are not like forward and reverse buttons that get you to the next turn
this is ideal if you want to make a screenshot of a special moment
while paused you can even move the camera to any position you want
(edit: I first thought it's a buggy freeflight mode, but seems like it's meant to be bound on sector center but dunno, buggy movement anyway )
fun, so often it would have lessened me much trouble for getting great shots if I'd only knew
some hotkeys were already reported and still there might be more

Re: Hotkeys
Anyone notice that eventually some of the hotkeys stop working? on in NBUL mod and after about 250-odd turns it stops working and doesnt' return:
F* continue to work
T stops working (map view)
S continues to work
- E/T/S stop working (summary menu)
