Multiplayer - Direct link

Post by ZaknafeinX »

Hi guys, need your wisdom...

Ive been playing BOTF with my wife for years - on a direct Lan link, having recently had all computers upgraded to Win 7, im having problems..

I installed the "Multi Installer" from this website, and chose "Vanilla" install on both PC's - everything works fine for single player games, but trying to connect via a twisted pair doesnt seem to work. Both firewalls have been shut down, and ip address of the host has been asertained from ipconfig.
However the joining player never sees the Hosts game - i can ping between the two computewrs, so they obviously see each other, any ideas chaps?

Regards - Zak

have you switched off both windows internal firewall and windows defender, too?

As next step I would edit host file in windows\system32\drivers\etc - folder and set in both ip adresses and name of the pc's.

then restart and take a look if things work...

hm win 7 and mp is virgin soil for me, too so gl
