If the designated opponant fails to show, you win.

Count yourself lucky.

at this rate, we could see a few noobies in the final,

That will make things interesting.

Just out of interest, how are the games going?

A tip of the hat to RuthlessFerengi, who took pity on a multiplayer noobie and set the match up to my favour in every way possible, and then still gave me a good game, even with the odds stacked against him.

I don't think he'll agree with that assessment, but perhaps he'll agree that he was a bit more than fair in setting the game up with me. :) Thanks for the match bud. Hopefully many more in the future.

By the book, absolutely flawless performance, bud. While you may quibble and mummble about starting conditions, you took what you had, and did a fantastic job of your resources.

Constant encounters=>victories=>morale bonus, early (by turn 19) take over of Roms (eventually took Ferengi), researched HC II by, i'd say, turn 30 but held back until got 20 HC and i decided to walk into the firing range of your reach - all this while resisting sabotage...

I was able to blow up a few outhouses, stole maps to the hidden bones and future tech for the Bloodwine recepie - nothing of consequence... Only once did i manage to catch him with no cloak and still, while loosing 8 HC he took out a healthy chunk of my flesh.... Taking over feds did not significantly improve my negative deficit and - in spite of the excellent morale, i could not get enough HC (DII i had plenty, but these did not survive the cloak to ram the HC to hell) to tip the balance in my favor...

THN did not trespass beyound reliable range, kept his intel up with my efforts, and in the end came up with 20 odd HCII, all vets - and who can argue with that kind of force? cloaked, an absolute disaster...

We did not go into prolonged convulsion of cardassia take over - i had to admit defeat to a much more worthy opponent.

Totally brilliant and robust performance, true klingon spirt, deserves to go to next round - no question. Look forward for more humilating beatings (in the league of the defeated) ... even at 2 am this was fun.... :)) getting up to work in 4 hours wasn't though...

So you've been eliminated, that's too bad. I was going to cheer for you after I got eliminated.

I'd love to chris but I'm off to class in an hour. If you're on later today I'll drop by the warzone.

I do not envy you that. Being in the furthest timezone west (PST: GMT-8) I get the chore of racing traffic after work to start at a decent time for my eastern comrades, but I'd rather be doing that than only getting 4 hours sleep. :|

But that is why we play......

To be up till all hours until our eyes start to sting, then dragging ourselves off to work after a dozen espresso.

then we sleep at work, ready for another night of BOTF

more like - bleed....

and yes, bilateral stress induced subconjuctival haemmorhage can be used as an official excuse not to show for work in the morning (just fax your face to the boss in am)

... and then, instead of going to bed, see if you could catch folks on the other part of the globe for a quick 3 hour drag (as they about to come back from work) while dodging a vigilant wife who does not think that Birth of Nerdation is a proper way to pass the time... who said our lives are boring?

When working at 7am, I sometimes look in warzone, but it is like a ghost town.

If we could get players from Japan........

Ask Jimmy_the_Tulip, he should have the needed timezone. :D
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.
