ShipView

Post by Gowron »

The new forum does not support file attachments, so I have uploaded the ShipView program(s) to my 4shared account:
http://gowron.4shared.com/

For those who don't know ShipView: It's a small win32 program which displays the ship stats from a given (maybe modded) shiplist.

The shiplist.sst file and the corresponding shiptech.sst file must both be located in the same folder as the ShipView program.

After running ShipView, a HTML table named "shiplist.html" will be generated (if there's already been a file with the same name in that folder, then the table will be appended to the end of that file).

There are three versions of this program:
  • shipview displays race, ship type, class, construction cost, support cost, shields, hull, beams, torpedoes, accuracy, defense, map range, speed, scan range, cloaking ability, production rate (for troop transports and colony ships), and the required tech levels.
  • shipview_ext also displays the AI type, beam range, torpedo range, and agility.
  • shipview_ext2 also displays the ID.
A discovery consists in seeing something everybody has seen and at the same time thinking something nobody has thought yet.

Yep, I had made a program called "BuildView".
I think I once uploaded it at the old forums.

I've uploaded it to my 4shared account :)

Note that this program is two years old. It sorts buildings by empire and category (food, energy...), but not by techs. Also, it does not support DCER's findings about turning base structures into special ones.

Btw, I'm using modified versions of buildview for my BoP documentations :)

Gowron,

I was just wondering if BuildView could be edited so it would just create a html of buildings 0-317 with same descriptions? Then I could edit html from there.

if so how would I edit it?

I've uploaded a modified version "buildview_thunder.zip" to my 4shared account.

It will display all buildings, except for trade goods and emergency morale programs (I could include these as well if you want them).

Buildings are sorted by category first, then tech area, then tech level.
