You just want to make them drunk so that you can beat them in multiplayer. Don't you?
I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

I don't know about a beer, but there is a donation page to help with the costs of the website.

Though, if we share alcohol here, there might someday be at the AA-club a subsection for birth of the federation players.

Hearing about how this is somebody's childhood makes me feel old. The closest to a 4X game from my childhood would be Utopia on the Intelivison. At least until I got Lords of Conquest in the early '90s.
Although those were not my favorites.
I preferred the Gold Box games, Bard's Tale, and eventually Final Fantasy. Although I also liked Strike Fleet.

Civilization was my first touch with strategy games, in the early 90s. The first real games I played from tv in the late 80s (really big pixels they had) Botf came into picture around 2000, after military service.

I liked Civilization II, I don't think I've ever played the original Civilization.
As for big pixels, nothing beats the Apple II's low-resolution graphics screen. Seriously, fire up any Apple II/II+/IIe/IIGS emulator, get into AppleSoft BASIC (hit <CONTROL>-<RESET> when it's trying to boot), type "GR", then "COLOR=C%" where C is a number from 0 to 15 (0 is black), and then type "PLOT X%,Y%" where X and Y are pixel locations from 0 to 39. You'll be shocked at how big those pixels are.
Then again, Intelivision graphics have fairly big pixels as well, but not as bad as the Apple II low-resolution graphics. I've never seen anything bigger.

Who can I send a gift too? To thank for the game. Seriously, I want to offer my extreme thanks.

Never thought I would be able to play this game again, Huge part of my teenage years. I still suck at it but thanks to everyone involved in this project.
