Also, you don't need to power the moral building to get the moral effect for fed. But the Private Farms, Genesis and Daystrom you don't need to power.

.
how about ferengi private farms? do they need to be powered?

No, they don't need to be powered either.

9. Very handy when you have say 3300 industry in sol, and it takes 4 turns for a heavy cruiser but on the last turn it only needs 200 industry, well buy it when it has 2 turns left for 4000 credits and you will be returned the industry in that system, which in sol would be 3300!
you know how they tell you one thing, and you respond - yada-yada blah - heard that etc... and never actually get the point? here is a perfect example. I've read it many times, but never actually appreciated how much cash you can get back from partial buys...

here is what i mean:

as klings i had production of 2800 per turn.... i've built a kvort for two turns, thus invested 5600 and needed another 4400 to
complete a build (or two turns, but would have wasted 1200 if waited for all two turns to process), so i bought a kvort at
turn 3:

After i paid 4400, i ended up with 21000 at the end of turn 3... at turn 4 i have 24000 and kvort... i.e. i got a 3000 bonus...(or one turn production converted to cash)

next two turns: have 24500 now plus 200 per turn... bought hc on 3rd turn (production is 2700 per turn), now have (turn 3) 21500... process turn,
at turn 4 i have 23,700 and a kvort... i.e. got 2200 bonus...

have 24100 now plus 200 per turn... bought hc on 3rd turn (production is 3000 per turn), now have 20400... process turn,
and now i have 23900 and a kvort, i.e. got 3300 bonus...

as fed, i am in negative 1500 per turn, 3 ships are nearing construction (2 turns leaft each), so i spent 9 grand on them, leaving me a total of 5 credits left... However, at next turn
i fully expect to get production from all three planets (a total of 6 grand) to offset my buys - and 3 dreids ...

wow... for some penny drops a little too late:))

thanks, dissy

hehe.... dissy writing a strategy guide.... you've come a long way grasshopper! I remember when you 1st showed up on the Zone. In so many places I see this "crap" about scouts, tt's and crzrs (heavies)to take systems.... use 1 more scout then the system has orbitals (6 orbs = 7 scouts) etc... the 1st six scouts die to the orbs, 7th scout kills generator, tt's take system with minimumal damage. And if you're klings...dont even NEED scouts just use tt's (more expensive but works just as well).

sure you are allowed to bump if i am allowed to say hello. i was here a year ago to d/l the game again while i was in iraq, but never even played it since single player is too easy.
i also miss the old zone days :)

bumping it again. I thought I knew most tricks by now after long time lurking and occasional posting on some BOTF forums. Don't play it much anymore though.
