Tips of UDM5?

Hey Guys,

I've recently started playing UDM5 after playing BOTF - Large No building upgrade version, and struggling to get into it. Obviously the game play mechanics will be different from previous versions so I was wondering if anyone had tips or a strategy guide for the game? Also if anyone wants to discuss how they approach the game and their individual tactics that would be great!

I only have a couple observations

1. tech is basically the same as no upgrade mod so should play some what the same.
2. with higher pop and larger maps colonize every system to build max credit flow and build a lot of ships.
3. Federation has 0 morale penalty for bombarding so playing feds is easier.
