I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

Yes. The Cardassians are #1 on the intel side of the game.
The Obsidian Order gives a bigger bonus than the Tal Shiar. Plus, don't forget that the Cardies get a certain amount of free intel points based on their population; the Romulans don't have this advantage.

How very interesting!
Pardon my inexperience in these matters, but is there a place on these forums where I might find information on such matters as these? I must confess that I have merely been operating on assumptions and speculation when attempting to ascertain the relative efficacy of things like intelligence, ship combat, ground combat, production, commerce, and research (although admittedly, I could venture some very educated guesses on some of these). I would, in other words, benefit greatly from knowing which empires are good at what.
np man, here's a breif overview of each races advantages:
Federation
ADVANTAGES
Great diplomacy.
- cheaper bribes/gifts/treaties to other races
- more races have a more favourable opinion of them and so are easier to get as members
Strong Shields + Hull
- ships have strong shields and the 2nd highest hull value, meaning they are good at ramming klingons/ferengi/ and romulans in tactical combat
Research
- the best research
Very strong on t1/2/3
Strong on t4/5
Good on all tech levels
DISADVANTAGES
Invasion
- big morale penalty for invading systems + declaring war // converse to this is big morale gains for liberating systems
Intelligence defence
- the weakest intel defence
Cardassians
ADVANTAGES
Strongest Hull in game
- biggest hull meaning in tactical combat they are great at ramming opponants to bits, 1 dest and 1 scout on ram will destroy a Kvort class heavy cruiser
Intelligence
- best intelligence in game
Productivity + Industry
- 2nd best industry in game
Invasion
- good at invasion
Morale bonus for breaking treaties!
- useful
- good at t4/5
DISADVANTAGES
Slow ships
- on average.
Worst Research
- slowest research
Very bad diplomacy
Poor on low tech games
Klingons
THE BEST RACE ON TECH LEVEL 4/5 WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT.
ADVANTAGES
Cloak
- cloaked heavy cruisers = lethal
Beam Weapons
- Strongest beam weapons in game, in tactical combat get in close and charge charge charge rip ur enemy to threads
Fast ships
- TTs II move speed 2 allowing for great speed at expansion
Great at invasion
Best industry in game
DISADVANTAGES
Weak intel
No cloaked ship able to bomb and live meaning scouts are needed to sacrifice to subjucate systems on t5 level, bc can bomb on lower techs
FERENGI
ADVANTAGES
Great economy
- money makers, trade with anyone
Raider II
- this ship is awesome. 2 levels from upgrade to class II at tech 5. brilliant at evade/strafe/evade/strafe in tactical combat. (bring TTs with them to increase range vs ramming opponants)
Diplomacy
- due to money also good at diplomacy
Torpedoes
- strong torps in battle - get far from your opponant
Fast ships
- tts move speed 2.
Good at t1/2/3
DISADVANTAGES
Expensive ships
- in comparison to other empires
Weakest Industry
- slow to build your expensive ships
Intel (average)
Research (average)
ROMULANS
ADVANTAGES
Cloak
- a full range of cloaked ships
Torpedoes
- strong torps and cloaked ships gives a very strong first volley vs enemy fleet
Intelligence
- 2nd best intel in the game
Research
- 2nd best research in the game
average industry
good at invasion
a good race selection on ANY tech level (strong t1/2/3/4/5

what tech level are you playing?
on t5 I go for one of these two combos:
if playing a non cloaked race I'll generally have 2:1:1 ratio of heavy cruiser:destroyer:scouts .. but vs a cloaked race they'll pwn the fast first turn so i'll go for pure heavy cruisers for mobility
but what level are you playin on? and I presume your playing the AI? Tbh what you want vs AI is a fleet mostly heavy cruisers, with a few fleets of destroyers to raid and scouts to scout! but your main ship should be the heavy cruiser, and until then maybe have afew standard cruisers but mostly backup with destroyer.

Just plain, simple, Garak.
Does anyone have a good combination of Cardassian ships to destroy Terok Nor in UDMIII?
I dont want to cheat and edit the stats but have met Bajor pretty early and my fleet that I built to take it, 1 Command cruiser, 4 Battleships, 4 Destr and a Fighter have been mauled. Even with ram, they hardly made a scratch, just 2 bars of hull. Would I have to wait about 100 turns to build up a fleet with top class ships?
They also seem a bit underpowered compared to feds who Im having a few border skirmishes with.

Question about Nor class space station
My understanding is that the Cardassian Nor class space station like Deep Space 9 are powerful.
Can I build a space station like Deep Space 9 to defend my territory? If I can, game wise, are they powerful and worth it?
