That's a common rule for determining the triangle count from the rectangle count, each rectangle will be split in twice on conversion. ;)

not that you have to double it, but during conversion of model, you combine faces. you already have done that by using square faces.

You are lucky if a 1200 face model (2400 face model before combining) of being able to be converted with the limits the game has.

with your style of creating models I suggest to keep total faces under 1200

Yes, I understand, had the same trouble when I've begun with it.
You'd need to learn about unwrapping and using uv-mapping for texturing the ships.
The page I've linked has only been the introduction, there are several more pages.

As you can see it's very very much stuff, so I'm sorry not to tell things in detail. ;)
There are also lots of tutorials in the web.

My Finish Ship

So now Today my Ship are finish

hear is a Pic



But my Problem ist the Polygones -.-. I will reduce the Polygone.

Hear the Polygonedata:

Faces: 2287

I made the most off Polygone with 4 Verticales. I double the Faces I have 4.500 Poyligones -.-.

Its quite a design you have there... the only thing i dont like is the ring nacelle pylon, perhaps a more conventional one would be appropriate. I especially love the way the neck looks when looking from the side, it mimics the Luna class as well as the Galaxy and a bit of Nebula class in there. Good job :)

Thanks Tethys and Army for your Comment :). I be happy so i read your Comments.

Hear is the Pic from a Postcard that I have many Years I have it. I hope i found the Ship in a Film or Game, now i have self Creat for a Game^^. Many hours I worked for this 3D Modell and now I finished^^. But I have a problem with the Texturs -.-. I can Convert in ftl or an another file. I hope the communety helb me with the Texturs. I was so happy when I can producet in Botf.

WOW !!! 8O this is a huge ship, and the 3D model it´s really beatifull. As for the texture, do you know any graphic program, as photoshop for example ???

Wow, u wonder where that pic is from? Ive never seen the ship on screen, but that looks like it might have been a preliminary design model of some sort.

Is this ship going to be a strike cruiser i assume?

Yes i think so. Ithink the Ship is a heavy Battle Cruiser over the Sovereign but under the Scimitar. This ship is the Wallace Class.

I haven't a Grafikprogramm -.-! ok I have Paint ;) for Windows but i think Paint isn't good for it!

If you can make the textures look like the pic, then i would most likely download it! (considering of course that you combine the palettes down so that it only uses 1, and also you should look into the shared textures project)

Ok I Think my Ship was all rady finshid. I have reduce they Polygone to 1115 (dubled 2230: most Polygone are 4 Verticals). I hope it is enough. Please tell mie it is ok? Or must more reduced?

it is a little high but should be convertible at those numbers.

My Problem is the Texturs -.- i hope i find a way to painting the ship :). or i can help from a other peaple from this Forum. I can convert in many other Datafiles not in hob but other Datafiles^^.
