Saber anyone?

Post by thunderchero »

Hi Everyone,

After seeing the Saber in UDM I thought I would finish a model I started awhile ago.

this image is full lighting (no shadows) and also uses 3 - 512 x 512 both shared textures so ship pack version will not look this good.

I will convert tomorrow

I think the lines are too dark, but Im sure once converted and without the lighting, it will look sweet. If it ends up looking as good as the Nova's Ill consider getting you something for valentines day ;)

Hi everyone,

Here is the ship pack for 256 version.

Saber ship pack

here is what it looks like in game (256 version)

here it is in UDM (512 x 512 textures)

I was surprised the differance is only slight

polygons 1124 (3 point)
polygons combined 855
interpenetration tolerance 0.0800
vertex number 2049
hob size 243 KB
3 textures (1 palette) + (2 shared textures)

slight ?... :|

I must desagree

I think it looks even more sharpen in 512 texture.

Let´s take the scape pods for example, in 256x256 i can count the pixels inside every pod. In 512x512 looks perfect.

Looks fantastic TC, great work, especially on the deflector!

EDIT: as an aside, would it be possible to get the Saber re-scaled to 150% at all? :)

with UE you can edit scale yourself

True, but it presents an issue when adding a lot of new starships and hence having to use multiple ships on the same phaser slot.

add ship to any slot (replace model if needed)
edit scale
remove current model from ship pack
export edited scaled model to ship pack
close UE but do not save (ship pack saves when exported)
reopen and add with edited scale
