Ferengi models make over

Post by thunderchero »

Hi Everyone,

I started remaking some of the vanilla style Ferengi models.

here are 3 previews the Marauder. Each has a little different base color I would like a few opinions.

Those are some beautiful models, 'chero. I really like them!

I'll admit the dark one is my favorite, though. There's something about it that gives the Marauder a slightly "grittier" feel, which appeals to me.

Vanilla is the best and the starbase is the best design iv seen.

Vanila; the lighter(and brighter) the more Ferengi it looks; do you remember Quark's colorful cloths?

A t-shirt is one thing, a maurauder is one deadly ship, it has to have a bit of menacing look....

Hey that's great. Was kind of hoping to see the Ferengi make a comeback in a new version of UDM III. I liked playing Vanilla with the Ferengi but the models were not so good.

The second one doesn't look that bad. It's not too dark, but it blends in nicely in the background. Gives it a DS9ish appearance.

I find first one looking a bit too greenish and unremarkable, I'd choose 2nd one too, but maybe alter color variance a bit more giving it some additional dark brown areas e.g. the plates on top. Further the plates on sides look a bit strange being round shaped. And the phasers don't look well integrated either. Summed it just doesn't look consistent to me. I loved the red ships in BotF but agree the only canon ships I remember rather were some kind of brownish-orange. But I hardly remember what they really looked. Sad so few pics can be found on the net. :(

Common mistake, those are grappler arms for salvaging ships.

I picked the dark one :)

Those new ships look great. Certainly they knock the spots off of my attempts to give them a makeover for the AAM. :)
