Yeah, I never read the books but I've encountered fanfic in other fandom's crossovers with trek using this ship.

She found the Columbia NX-02 in the gamma quadrant in one book, I believe.

Yeah, that's in the Destiny trilogy books by David Mack; deals with the Borg; one of my favorite book stories. There's a whole borg arc leading to that (Resistance -> Q&A -> Before Dishonor -> Greater Than the Sum -> Destiny trilogy; just google TNG books). An excellent series. That it was written by J.G. Hertzler himself makes it all the better.
Another great Trek novel is A Stitch in Time by Andrew Robinson (yes, *that* Andrew Robinson).

Told my wife how he tricked the plants to grow faster; now she's doing the same, growing them out of season; keep the bulbs in the freezer a few weeks in Nov. and you can have them blooming for Xmas.
