Drool!
Yeah, I never read the books but I've encountered fanfic in other fandom's crossovers with trek using this ship.

not sure what books it is used in, but ship design is by Mark Rademaker. I did see a new book "Takedown" and the USS Aventine is on cover.

She found the Columbia NX-02 in the gamma quadrant in one book, I believe.

Yeah, that's in the Destiny trilogy books by David Mack; deals with the Borg; one of my favorite book stories. There's a whole borg arc leading to that (Resistance -> Q&A -> Before Dishonor -> Greater Than the Sum -> Destiny trilogy; just google TNG books). They pick up just after Nemesis
If you have a couple of slow weeks at work ...
Another book story I personally liked: The Left Hand of Destiny.

An excellent series. That it was written by J.G. Hertzler himself makes it all the better.
Another great Trek novel is
A Stitch in Time by Andrew Robinson (yes, *that* Andrew Robinson).

Yeah, "A Stitch in Time" was an awesome read also. It usually is when it comes "from the horse's moth".
Told my wife how he tricked the plants to grow faster; now she's doing the same, growing them out of season; keep the bulbs in the freezer a few weeks in Nov. and you can have them blooming for Xmas.
