this mod was never adapted for any thing other than vanilla.

reason 1 the game was not able to calculate ship placement properly

reason 2 Galaxy mod had many GUI changes and original files were not available.

sorry

Hi @ all,

I've got a problem with the resolution of the map:

It looks like the aspect ratio of the map is 4:3?

I installed the game ( Multi installer 1.0.2), the 1366-mod, then I modified the trek.exe with UE (for a bigger galaxy). Then the map ist small as the old game.
Then I used the "bofrespatch-20111119-w32", to fix the resolution, but I don't geht the aspect ratio, how it looked bevor the UE modifie.

What can I do?

Thx

before you ran the bofrespatch-20111119-w32 did you extract all the files in the stbof.res to a folder? the patcher needs to read those files to properly set some values.

yes, I did. But I took an Old stbof.res folder, from an stbof.res without the 1366-Mod.
Maybe that's it ...

/edit:
Nothing happend, if I use the 1366-Mod stbof.res file.

There would be no guarantee that it would work properly.

:?: are you using 1.0.2 or 2.0 UCW :?:

first backup stbof.res and trek.exe from BOTF folder and UCW folder.
copy UCW stbof.res and trek.exe to BOTF folder
then run 1366 patch
copy the stbof.res and trek.exe from botf folder to UCW folder
copy the backed up botf stbof.res and trek.exe to botf folder

good luck, but the Klingon that replaced ferengi would be unplayable and opening gui would also be very messed up

yes, but with a lot of work.

the reason it crashes is new image sizes/prefixes

new 50 x 50 tga's would need to be created for energy screen with boarders
new ship 270 tga (270 x 225) would need to be created
new resized structure _c tga's (706 x 590) would need to be created

2.0 has more added with new file names, while 1.0.2 only replaced existing files (original files)?

did you try to install latest version of 1366 on ucw 1.0.2?

tbh I am surprised it worked

hi, thanks for all your hard work.

I'm a long time player but first time on this site. I'm sure others have asked this but is there any fixing the crashing on this patch. every time i get far into it, it crashes or freezes. i know the game had problems from the beginning but was hoping you had any ideas.

thanks again

explain problem please.
do you think this is related to this patch? or crashing in general?
what OS are you using?
do you use cd install or multi installer?
does it crash on vanilla or mods?

so many questions I could ask but basic info would narrow it down.

I have found game very stable lately using DxWnd now.
