announcement:
:/
I'm the next one who is out of the tourney.
I knew before that I would have less time after the 25th but thought it would be more than it actually is. so I miscalculated. Sorry kimi.
Wesley has taken over my place. We're Borg, so it's not a problem and it happend. thunderchero you have to adapt yourself to this not really changed situation
Tournament started before the other one ended and wesley has plenty time atm and I'm not.
so it isn't a big deal and the games should continue.
and of course I wish all of you good games
have fun and take some screenshots of your massive battles plz

crazygoopdog and I have started our game. It's around turn 50 now. He took rom and I took fed. We've had 1 big battle, 30 something wb and a few tacktical vs 20 something dreads along with 8 escorts some frigates and 3 scouts and a few tt. I won the battle, mainly due to my fast attack with their speed and good phaser attack. My dreads just rammed his wb then charged if I rammed one. 1000 shields is alot. I could kill one ship ramming and still have lots to defend while charging.
After the battle I bombed one of his systems but couldnt take it. Lost most of my fast attack but didn't care as I knew in 3 turn I could have 18 more. Which is one reason I don't like this mod so much. Too sasy to make ships.
Anyway, he has quickly made another big wb fleet. Close to 40 now while I have around 30 command and 20 something fast attack. He's killed a few of my ships coming down to his systems while my main fleet is raiding. So I've moved to Romulus and will get a free bomb turn as some of his wb are trying to kill my cruisers coming down. We crashed at that point.
I'm hoping to take Romulus this turn but have only 4 tt. Either way I hope to kill some of his structures. His intel attack has been very good. Killing food, industry, stealing ships etc etc. I haven't made any intel structures and only replace the food structures if he killed them. Mostly I just ignore his intel. In hindsight, I should have taken card . lol
We'll probably battle after I bomb Romulus but the game is far from over. Whoever loses his fleet will just make another one. lol

Well, I didn't take Romulus so I lost some fast attack but mostly dd's. And 2 turn after we are having our 2nd battle. He has 42 wb 3 tactical and a couple fast vs 31 command, mostly dread with some cruiser 8 escort and 7 frigate 3 scout and tt, we crashed on 4th battle turn. He had 15 wb left and 2 tactical and I had 3 cruser and all my fast attack and 2 scout. Battle will be really close. Either way we can expect more and more of these battles as we can just make another fleet.

Hi brandybeans, dx_chaos, Omegaleader and The_Nighthawk,
I see that brandybeans and dx_chaos have progressed to next round according to bracket. Did you progress by winning your games or did the other guy pull out of tourney?
If you won your games, have you got reports of those games?
Just interested.

dx_chaos won with his well-played Cardassians against my Federation. I made a huge tactical mistake by committing to an early fight instead of fleeing, and though I attempted to make a comeback I couldn't make enough headway after he conquered Sol and another starting system. We tried to end with another climatic battle but could never finish it out. We could, however, get far enough in for me to see I wasn't going to win it.
So rather than play out another 100 turns in a mostly lost cause, I resigned. It was a good game.

Playing BoP whenever the wife allows!
Just wanted to add a small note to what Nighthawk has said.
I was a bit lucky - that early battle went a lot better for me than i had thought it would and gave me a real advantage as the game progressed. Nighthawk fought a strong fight - arriving with a nice fleet of legendary and elite dreadnoughts and a decent group of defiants when i least expected it. But by then i had two main systems including sol and was able to churn out the ships.
Just wanted to thank Nighthawk for the game and for flying the white flag once the position seemed clear.
He was a pleasure to play and I look forward to next time

Hi all
dx_Chaos and I have now got to turn 60 in our see-saw game. Please see retire screen so far. dx_Chaos chose Klings so I went Roms.
This is how it's gone so far. I was top centre with Fergs top left, Cards top right and after agreeing treaty with Feds found out they were towards bottom right.
This only left bottom left for Klings.
I started building quick, concentrating on WBs and Dest's and sat on Ferenginar, not to take it as you need loads of ships and TTs to do that in this mod, but to try and extort money, raid and I also intelled Fergs immediately.
I spied dx_Chaos around turn 10 top left, but he obviously didn't want to meet me this early, so his ship withdrew. I think he had declared war on Fergs by this time. I was getting fair amount of money from Feds and Cards (particularly Cards who I had affiliation with).
This allowed me to buy quite a few WBs. I started building TTs pretty soon and took some Minors, Chalnoth, Benzar, Bolarus, Bajor, Takara and was trying to get Andorians to join me as they seemed to like me. Turned out this was a waste of money as Cards subjugated them and although I liberated them later and they joined me, it was too expensive.
Around turn 30, I had a go at taking Ferenginar with 30 TTs, 1 Cruiser and 12 Dest's. Bad move!! I lost 8 Dest's in the attack and did nothing to Ferenginar, so I moved a bunch of around 15 WBs over to have another go.
This time it worked, so I started to systematically move around Ferengi systems, subjugating them. By now I had a problem with money due to my fleet cost. I hadn't checked cost of running TTs and I had nearly 40 by now.
Somewhere between turn 45 and 50, I only had 1 Ferengi system to take, but and it's a big but!! he turned up on my doorstep with a big fleet. I'm talking around 14/15 Negh'Vars, 20+ K'T'ingas, 6 Vor'Chas, maybe 8/9 B'Rels, his original K'Vort, I imagine and a fair few TTs.
He took Bolarus off me on turn 47 (also taking one of my Intel bonuses), and if I had moved to the last Ferengi system to take it he could have attacked my fleet. I didn't feel confident of winning battle against that much firepower, even though my WBs were WB Vs by now. I had 29 WBs and maybe 8/9 Dest's so I moved out of range.
This left the field clear for dx_Chaos to do a number of things, which could have included taking last Ferg system for morale boost. Instead he came into my home systems territory and took a small colony from me. I think it was a dilithium system so I may have to take it back!
Of more concern, he took one of my main systems. The orbitals were all powered and he lost 18 ships, though I don't know what type.
By this time I had scrapped most of my TTs, which was staring to bring me back to positive money per turn, but I was still in the red and I lost maybe 10 or more production turns due to my finances.
He had grown his fleet, but lost a few as mentioned above and I had started major building of Dest's as soon as my money was back in credit. While this was all happenning, I sent all my ships to Cardie space to gain experience in batttle and quite a few were legendary by the time he had parked all his ships on Romulus and I felt I had no choice now but to engage the Klingon hoards.
I had built 28 Dest's by now and these had been upgraded to Dest IV. I also had 28 WBs and a Light Cruiser. His fleet at Romulus consisted of about 13 Negh'Vars, 22 K'T'ingas, 6 Vor'Chas, 12 or so B'Rels and maybe 10 TTs.
I had kept a few TTs, so I didn't get caught out by uncloaked ship ruse.
I guess you could say that the battle was glorious and a lot of Klingons found out that it was a good day to die.
I won't reveal battle tactics, but all I will say is that after 4th battle turn all of his Negh'Vars were scattered atoms and after the 6th battle turn his Vor'Chas had joined them. It took 9 turns in all to destroy his entire fleet, leaving me with only 2 WBs and I believe, all of my Destroyers (about 28, now much more experienced of course).
When I say a "see-saw" game, you can see that I appeared to be comfortable for quite a while, but when I ran into money trouble he started to catch me and even overtook me on the graph after taking some of my systems.
This battle took me back ahead, but only just and I feel that the game is still quite balanced.
Has been a pleasure to play as neither of us has wasted much time using the chat function and dx_Chaos plays his turns pretty quick (usually quicker than me, so I'm sorry if I held game up, at all). Getting 60 turns in during about 5 hours isn't too bad though, I think.
We only had 2 or 3 crashes and none at all in our big battle.
I know dx_Chaos' good lady is expecting any time, but I hope she holds off for long enough for us to continue later in the week.
Qapla' with the new addition BTW dx_Chaos and thanks for a fun game so far.
Best Regards
