Dilithium Frequency

Post by mbwilliams »

Can anyone give me any tips for increasing dillithium frequency? I realize I can add more minors with dillithium but I would prefer it in empyt systems.

Cheers

No, he refers to your other topic (i.e. "limited" means this cannot be done yet -knowledge is there, but still alot of work/research to do).

I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.

I searched in UE stbof.res and trek.exe to edit dilithium frequency, but found nothing...
where is the option to be found?

Thanks for the link.

Home systems of major races and space-faring minor races will get dilithium anyway.
Okay, I found the position. there are these numbers:
00 00 00 00 9a 99 99 99 99 99 b9 3f 7b 14 ae 47
What do I have to change to make it half dilithium?
(default value: 0.1 should be 0.05)

default value: 0.1 in 0.05
so you want less dilithium?

default value: 0.1 = 1 in 10 systems should have dilithium.
new value 0.05 = 1 in 20 systems should have dilithium
new value 0.5 = 10 of 20 systems should have dilithium

any way use UE to calculate new value to enter. value use in this case is a double (8 bytes) so select that box

in top line "decimal" enter new value and select "convert" next to decimal line

in trek.exe the values you would replace;

9A 99 99 99 99 99 B9 3F change to your new value.

I have almost no experience with hex editing, but I finally got it and changed it.
thanks for your answer, thunderchero.
btw: some links in your "Nuts and Bolts Guide" are broken.

yes. value 0.05 could make it a little bit more interesting.
