I am so sad. Lost my cd of BotF

Post by HsojVvad »

Hey all, finally got a new lap top. I was so happy, but now I am so sad. I was ready to install BotF onto my laptop and now I can't.

Now I can't play this great game. I am hoping that cleaning up will help me find the disk.

Well wish me luck guys so I can find my disk, so I can start playing BotF again.

Much as i hope you find your CD for sentimental reasons ... why don't you just download a copy of the game or the multi installer from here? ;)

You can do that? I downloaded the dominion wars 3 mod. I always had disk in the dvd drive, so I thought I needed it to play.

You mean I don't need my disk to play? Oh that is great news, thanks for the heads up. I will check it out. What one should I be getting?

Ah I see what you are talking about now. Thank you very much. So I don't start a new thread, what other mods do you guys suggest?

If I have any mod questions, should I ask them here, or do I go else where? I am not shure where to ask about a specific mod question.

Main Multi Installer 1.0.2 in the downloads section under multi mods .... you put this one on and then you can put as many of the mods on as you like and they'll all run side my side. no more of that pain in the aese having to uninstall one mod for another ;)

All the mods that are compatible with the main multi can be found in the same section ... and yes UDM III is one of them :)

Anthour question. I am installing the game now. It asked me for 3 choices. What should I have taken? I have taken the software option.

Should I have taken Hades 2.1 3dfx or the other Haes 1.1 direct 3d?

software is safest, but other depend on your video card compatability.

if you want to try other, you would need to uninstall then reinstall with other options test game in battle and see what works best for your system.

I DO own the CD, and I just gave up on the CD install. It crashes in combat. You're better off with the downloadable multi-installer. I'm using Hades 1.1 now and haven't had a crash in 100 turns. Before I used to crash out of 2/5 combats...

I notice most of the crashes in the research screen when looking through the ships. Software seems to work better for me but makes the game a little bit laggy.

I forget what editor I had before. What is a good editor to use now?

Oh that is great. That is the one I downloaded. Since it wasn't at the top and close to the bottom, I thought it was old, and I should have gotten something else.

How do I find my old posts? I remeber asking questions about this editor. I don't want to reask everything so if I can find my old posts then I can read them, since I can't remember what posts I put them in.
