eber, I did find it interesting that Romulans from Enterprises time could produce such a sophisticated holographic system for outside their ships, yet Voyager could not reliably project 3 Talaxian ships into space when in a battle with the Kazon.

And their Drone ships could outmaneuver Photons-that-were-called-Photonics
like those guys from Matrix could outmaneuver bullets

Just watched the trailer. I was very interested for the first 90 seconds, then it died. Looks like more cliche crap with bad writing to insult our intelligence. Sigh.

The mention of Cloaks in 'Balance of Terror' being new could be a reference to the fact that that particular model was new, since the romulans change and update the cloak with advancements of sensor systems.

That was the first time the Romulans had invented cloaking technology, and the first time the Federation had seen it. That is why they sent Kirk to steal it, it was an advantage they wanted to copy. The Romulans then traded cloak tech to the Klingons, who'd also never seen it, for D7 cruisers. And of course there ended up being a treaty between the Feds and Roms that prohibited the Feds from using or developing cloaks.

What I find interesting is that the Feds never tried any other sort of Stealth tech.

That hologram system the Romulans used seems to only work on relatively weak sensors, but I'd guess that an updated version could do better.

In one Ep of TNG the Federation encounters a ship with some wierd sort of armor that blocks long range scans, as well as partially dissipating phaser shots.

It was impounded by the Vulcans, thus raising the question of why the Federation didn't reverse engineer the hull plating it used.

found a little article with further information about SGU. It spoils a bit, so be careful ;)

Stargate Universe: Webisodes & Reassurances

also another interesting article on the same hp to the new movie Predators

Sounds awesome that Rodriguez will produce it! AvP2 was so bad so they have to make a big reparation to save the Aliens/Predators Universe! I'm also glad that the new movie won't play on earth man, what a shithole ;)

Hmmm.... Both look promising. It seems the creative guys have kept in mind the #1 rule of serials. Go forward or die. :)

I'd be amusing seeing his race end up like the columbian drug loards in Predator 1. :)

rotflmao @ eber3 and marhawkman

But, as funny as it is. Its "unrealistic"

Predators just attack the strong who are able to defend themselves to get a trophy.

Hm...but if you would tell ALF that it is a big cat in a costume the Predator on the opposite will get into big danger ;)

But ALF isn't physically weak. He's just a harmless goofball.
