When WZ OTHER lobby is down...

Post by ruthlessferengi »

if you have mutliinstaller, you can't use BOTF lobby in WZ to play yourr mods.. you can play vanilla, but not mods..
..
so, the way around it is to:

copy files from, say, udm directory, remove all botf files from BOTF directory, and paste udm files in BOTF...

by default, WZ BOTF will play the game that is loaded in botf directory, it works...
Relevance is a post hoc phenomenon

another solution (with same effect) would be to adjust the registry.
execute "regedit" (win->start->run or ausführen) then go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectPlay\Applications
there all directplay games or multi mods should be listed, each in an own folder.
That's what warzone is looking for. In BotF Lobby it just chooses the Birth of the Federation subfolder, so go for it and adjust the CurrentPath and the Path value. I dunno if warzone also checks the key, so better leave it.

Either way, keep care not launching with someone that is still using plain vanilla or another mod, it wouldn't work that well. ;)

Hi Everyone,

The easiest way I have found to play mods in BOTF room is;

1. create new folder in BOTF folder and rename to backup.
2. move trek.exe and stbof.ini from BOTF folder to backup
folder
3. Copy trek.exe and stbof.ini from UDM folder to BOTF folder.

thats it.
