Star Trek XII?

Post by HsojVvad »

I finally saw Star Trek XI months ago, and I was wundering, is there going to be a ST XII? Has anyone herd or know anything about it? I saw it on DVD when it was released. I didn't even bother to buy it, went to the corner store and rented it.

Can't say that if I should have seen it or not at the cinema. I am surprised I only saw it once, and that's it.

Anyways, are they in the works for ST XII, or is it being planned, or not at all?

yes star trek XII is planned -- chris pine let that slip on the blu-ray extras -- and Leonard Nimoy will not be in it according to Mr. Nimoy since he's retiring (again?)...

I'm fairly certain I read somewhere that all of the main cast members signed a contract for at least 3 movies... so ST XI, ST XII, STXIII

I'm really hoping our friend JJ decides to restore "the" timeline... but I doubt that will happen. In a decade, we might have more Trek spinoff series mirroring what we've already seen but different because JJ made a movie about the timeline changing.

This movie might be pretty good, if they just do a few things...

Get a different director

Get different writers

Get a different producers

Pretend the last movie never happened

Get all new actors

Get all new sets and ship designs

Stay/return to the proper universe

Avoid making Scotty a jerk who laughs about killing peoples pets

Make Spock something other than a physically violent sex starved womanizer

Not allow Jar Jar Abrams to continue playing the role of Scottys new assistant

Matter of fact, make sure that Ewok is never seen again

If they can do these few simple things.... the movie MIGHT be good.

First they need to drop the big Trek shite.

By that I mean the technobabble. It's not needed, and honestly, in voyager and enterprise, it smacked of mocking, to me.

I prefer the treknobabble, it adds to the scheme of things... ive always been a fan of cortical stimulators and phase variance and temporal fluxes... :D

Get a different director --> Agrees

Get different writers --> Agrees

Get a different producers --> does that make a difference?

Pretend the last movie never happened --> you mean like after ST 1,5 and 10?

Get all new actors --> Disagrees

Get all new sets (Disagrees, i think redoing the set was necessary) and ship designs (totally agrees, how dare he changing all these ships)

Stay/return to the proper universe --> Agrees

Avoid making Scotty a jerk who laughs about killing peoples pets --> Agrees

Make Spock something other than a physically violent sex starved womanizer --> actually i liked that

Not allow Jar Jar Abrams to continue playing the role of Scottys new assistant

Matter of fact, make sure that Ewok is never seen again --> at least replace it with a tribble.

and MORE Technobabble

But that is Star Trek, or at least Next Generation. For something to be called, it had to have 3 names to it. Come to think of it, my mind is a blank and I can't come up with any names. Darn.
