Maybe more Ship-slots !?!

Post by DEEDEETEE »

After Removing and deleting the Models of the ECML - Vanilla install i renamed the slots with A-Z and 0-9 the UE made like 3 additional with the Extension "_" and "__", suprisely there where some slots left and i renamed then with AA to AQ and UE made an "_"-Extension is a total count of
3*26 + 3*9 + 2*17 + the unchanged 39 Slots = 178 Shipsslots

No "= 178 different models used if not some unused" (your math does not add up to 73.)

max is 3*26 (A-Z) + 3*10 (0-9) + 2*37 (AA-AZ + BA-BK) = 182 different working models = 73 slots

The trek.exe slots are still unchanged (73 slot) they are just shared with other models.

3*10 would be 0-9, since 10 is 2 digits lol, but its 10 slots regardless.

Lol, 12 years of math but it wasn't my favourit...
but I dont understand, why not every Model can loaded
together, even if it's with same scale and phasers attributes, often the combination starbase and ship, sometimes even starbase and starbase ???

Ok this may sound dumb, but if I max out the models at 182, how many versions of ships can I have total. Say I reuse each model, all 182, 3 times each. That is only upgrade the stats and not change the model, how many is the max ship versions the game can handle?

Thank you sir. This has been a question I have had all along. With all these new models, how many refits do they get. Still 255 adds some flavour to the game.

255 ("FF" code space restriction) with minors and monsters
however the ship list is limited to 255 (FF)

you'll need some for aliens unless you wish to really get into the gut of codeing and remove them from the game; however, you could remove minor ships altogether if you wanted.

this would leave you with ~240ish shipslist places for major ships. 5 majors -> ~48 each

say
3 starbase
3 outposts
2 Heavy Command Cruisers
2 Command Cruisers
4 Strike Cruisers
2 Heavy Cruisers
2 Cruisers
2 Light Cruisers
3 Heavy Escorts
3 Heavy Destroyers
3 Destroyers
3 Light Destroyers
4 Scouts
3 Colony Ships
3 Colony Ships
2 Fighters
2 Shuttles

48 TOTAL
