Well, I'd be thankful for any financial support ruthless, dude. But as long you're not going to pay may studies and whole life cost I need a job anyway and so really can't tell anything on how much time I can afford for this.

well:)

as they say, a game played - and lost - is far superior to the game has not been played... this has been the reason for starting this Fest -

there are fewer and fewer folk playing in MP setting... Vets are are losing interest and dropping out - where is Mickar, Dissy, Chris etc?

guys who don't play regularly don't like their guts ripped (oh, i know the feeling - very fresh, complements of Flocke/Carcher) off in a MP blitzkrieg, plus that issue of ego and losing face/reputation.... So you can play a probably predictably doomed combo - Ferg vs Roms and do it a few times - learning from each defeat as you go... and boy did i ever:)

This was designed as a no pressure, see what you can do/still remember opportunity to get guys to play...Sadly not many people took this opportunity up but i stil hope the MP won't die off...

For me this has been a way to rediscover BOP post-RAM --- it certainly changed the balance of power... I chose to play Ferengi - that have been essentially emasculated in 1.2c with no ram and castrated "golden brick of doom - strateg cruiser"... I discoverd that not playing MP makes you well[- useless j:) As well as useless playing old BOP tactics/strategy i used to play in a new edition of BOP...

So i've descovered a few little delightful issues that may lead to the the re-birth of the ferengi in this edition of BOP - complements of my very appropriate defeats - I tend to learn from losses more then from victories

I asked Gowron to see if he can change some things but not hoping for much....

It is my convition, however, that without MP, the game will die faster.... It will eventually be supplanted - after they cut down internet access in the nursing home...

Ever tried your kids to get intersted in BOTF? well, ask mickar and myself - you won't get far...

I totaly agree with everything you say Ruthless,it may be an over used phrase but it is" better to play and lose than not play at all."

If you win an mp game game,,great enjoy the moment.

If you lose a game so what? you wont get laughed at when you walk down the street,and any banter that goes on in here is just that..banter-a bit of fun

For someone new to mp there are 2 drawbacks,and i'm speaking from experience here,
1: sorting out your ports and firewalls,i've seen loads of people get totaly frustrated and just give up,because they cannot get them configured correctly.
There are loads of hints,tips and guides here on our website, take a look,( maybe thunder can put then all in one place .....cough,cough )

2 Getting completly stuffed in 20 turns by a vet player can put some people off but dont let it,keep coming back for more and bite thier ankles like a jack russell!! you'll get there ,or at least give then a good run for there money.
More than that..you'll enjoy the challange

and one day you will beat them

trust me every dog has his day!!

As ruthless says this botf fest has no pressure its just for fun.so if you'd like to play an mp game don't be shy come to wz and have a chat and get started.
