Ok, I'll join you. It has been over a year since I have played, so it should be fun.

Has BoP changed much? The last time I tried it ships were very easy to build, which made way for larger battles and more crashes as a result. Considering it's to be a 4 or 5 player game, vanilla might be the way forward for stabilty.

Ok we've got 3 ! Chris, Me and darktrooper...

I suggested BoP as its got a whole load of bug fixes and "apparently" crashes very little! And the races are more balanced.. but we can decide on the day, vanilla might well be the way to go..

EDIT: And we could play fluid mod, that's very very close to vanilla and tailored to MP. but if everybody doesn't have it installed no worries.

I don't mind which version, as long as it is stable. Personally, I'd rather go with something we know to be stable; finding out after 50 turns or so would be a little frustrating. Knowing which version in advance would be good though, as 5 player games have often taken a while to set up.

A suggestion regarding fairness / balance: for a 5 player game, how about you (or anyone) assign a race to the numbers 1 to 5, then let people pick a number, you take the number that's left over, and then reveal what the races are? Not having the ability to pick favourites might make it more interesting.

heh that sounds like fun ye we can do that easy on sunday! aye we should probably do vanilla.. what settings though? I think me and you would prefer t4 or t5 but darktrooper may prefer t3..i think standard large map also , give everyone some time to develop then play innit.. umm...will do the race thing defo.. i just think the possibilitys of someone getting a 90 side and another getting a 330 side system are just too shit in vanilla 5 player ffa, unfair even,... is why id personally prefer bop..systems at least will be even, still be a good game.. and it is more stable.
