You're correct. She was all set to quit after season one, she wasn't happy with the lack of any action her character saw. But King Convinced her stay, saying that her character was a role model not only to blacks, but to others who could see an example of a "character of dignity and grace and beauty and intelligence."

Your turn.

Here's an easy one: Which Star Trek actor is missing a finger, and how did they lose it?

EDIT: Added the color and upped the text to make my question stand out better. ;)

Transwarp
Correct. James Doohan was missing his middle finger on one hand. It was shot off by friendly fire. A fellow solider in the Royal Canadian Artillery shot him six times, four in his leg, one in the chest, and one through his right middle finger. Because of that he always had to hide his hand from the camera, and they used a hand double for a few close up hand scenes. There are a few shots from the show where you can notice his missing finger...

"Who Mourns for Adonais?"

And of course his hand print from Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park...

Your turn Transwarp

Or maybe he was destroyed when they let Deanna drive the saucer section of the Enterprise D.

Picard: "Anything to report number one?"
Riker: "Um, well sir... well um, well you were gone the ship... kind of got destroyed."
Picard: "What?!?! How?"
Riker: "Well first we were duped by the Duras sisters and our warp core went into overload."
Picard: "The Duras sisters tricked you? The DURAS sisters?!? And you couldn"t eject the core?"
Riker: "No sir."
Picard: "Well you must have evacuated everybody to the saucer section, beam me up."
Riker: "Um sir... we kind of crashed that into the planet."
Picard: ".... my lord. How could you have possibly managed that?"
Riker: "I let Deanna drive sir."
Picard: *facepalm* "Number one, you're fired."

Uh-ahahaha. WTF? Have you ever tried to get a job as a scriptwriter? I've heard Abrams is making a new Star Trek movie soon.

To be fair though, the saucer seperation wasn't fast enough and it got damaged when the core exploded.
