Modding colony ship terraforming rates?
I'm wondering if there's an "easy" way (at least relatively speaking) to edit colony ships' terraforming rates. I don't suppose it's possible via UE, is it?

Uff-da. It would appear the answer to my question would be "no". Thanks anyway, though!

Well hex editing is easy, asm coding is not

Yes, at least the production value ( *100 = terraforming rate). But this will also affect new colony starting pop & buildings - for the info table see colonies post by Gowron.Martok wrote:I'm wondering if there's an "easy" way (at least relatively speaking) to edit colony ships' terraforming rates. I don't know how many bugs is too many but that point is reached somewhere before however many in BotF is.
Re: Modding colony ship terraforming rates?
@martok -- are you trying to increase the speed of terraforming? (as seems to have been assumed.) If your struggeling with understanding hex editing there is, under SCT's structured modding index, a link to a 'nuts and bolts guide' that may help or at the least inspire you to try hex editing again.
Re: Modding colony ship terraforming rates?
Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm very intimidated by the notion of hex-editing. As I've stated in the past, I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computers, and the info on hex editing always looks like Sanskrit to me.
Yes, I'm referring to specifically increasing a colony ship's terraforming speed.

Change the production value of colony ships in the Ship Stats page, i think values 1-9 are valid anything else crashes. IIRC, higher value = faster terraform.
Re: Modding colony ship terraforming rates?
Thanks Tethys. I'll give that a try.
