Hi Guys,
I love this game and this mod. I play with one of my friends. The previous versions of UDM have not had this issue. We recently upgraded to the latest version and started up a new game. My star map view is a slide show on my computer. His is fine. I have a modern computer that never had this issue before. We are on large galaxy but I am using the small view to move around. Turning off star system names don't really help. Any suggestions or things you guys might want to know to help me troubleshoot?

explain or post images.thezfunk wrote:My star map view is a slide show on my computer
but right off the top of my head I would say this is a video card issue or install error.
Did previous versions work on this system?

Re: Slight show in UDM
Yes, previous versions worked without issue. The game plays fine but when I am trying to scroll around in the star map it's like my computer is reduced to 2fps. I use my arrow keys to move around or double click to jump the star map to another spot and it takes forever to respond and update. It feels like I am playing a game that is way more than my system can handle. I have a 6 core processor with a GTX 570 who has never had an issue with this game before. I am going to try loading it up on my laptop and see if the problem is there too.
Another time it's slow is trying to move ships or give them orders and my cursor goes invisible and then reappears. I totally agree it's video related but I don't know what I I should be troubleshooting or looking for.

Re: Slight show in UDM
so mouse movements/shortcuts is responding slowly.
that is strange. what OS does this system use?
you can try DxWnd to see if that helps

Is there any explanation on how to use DxWnd? It opens a window that is really small in the middle of my desktop. It definitely operates and responds quicker but this isn't much of a solution if I can't get the window larger.

Re: Slide show in UDM
in DxWnd window right click the version you are using (UDM or UDML) and select modify.
in "Main" tab uncheck "run in window"
edit;
also in your previous posts you changed the stbof.ini 3D=DIRECT3D to 3D=SOFTWARE and this helped.
