Re: DxWnd pre-loaded for BotF (solves most windows 8/10 issues)
I am guessing same system as before?
Phenom II X6 1090T 3,2 Ghz
ASUS ROG HD7970 Ghz
8GB RAM
Radeon Crimson 16.5.3
Win 10 Pro x64
Current Resolution 1980x1020
if so what video driver version 16.9.2?
I fear this driver may cause even more problems before it is done.
last option is to use windowed version and stretch screen, set on main tab to width to 1900 and height to 1060. using exact windows size causes display problems.

Yeah I'm thinking about reverting to an older driver. Even windowed with your proposed resolution does show the game in upper left corner.
edit: Odd, I just reinstalled new version of UCW 2.0a that crashed during galaxy generation before and it ran without issues with the DxWnd that comes with the multi installer. No more upper left corner again.

I then wanted to install new version of Ferengi Dominion Alliance mod and tested my installed one with DxWnd Fullscreen that came with the multi installer and it didn't even crash on me during galaxy generation. Same goes for my installed Thunderchero's Multiplayer mod. Only mod that doesn't work properly seems to be the AFC mod. It crashed during galaxy generation, and appears in upper left corner after installation of your new version.

Redownloaded and installed. Now it displays right but the mouse cursor doesn't work properly. I can hover over the controls but the buttons won't light up and therefore the game is unusable. Another DxWnd setting which I'm missing?

Re: DxWnd pre-loaded for BotF (solves most windows 8/10 issues)
Nevermind. I'll stick with it then for the AFC mod. As long as it's the only mod making trouble it's no big deal at all. Appreciate your help very much TC. Thx for all your advice.

try unchecking modify, "input" tab in "cursor handling" section, line with "correct mouse position"captaindusk wrote:Now it displays right but the mouse cursor doesn't work properly. Re: DxWnd pre-loaded for BotF (solves most windows 8/10 issues)
Hi guys,
I've been away for a long time, came back and noticed this awesome DxWnd program! Anyway I've updated my Ferengi-Dominion Alliance mod, but if I try to replace the stbof.res file the program crashes when trying to start the game. How can I update the stbof.res for the mod and have the update included in the default installer?

welcome back Darth_Windu
depending on your changes, more than likely you also need to replace the trek.exe.Darth_Windu wrote:Anyway I've updated my Ferengi-Dominion Alliance mod, but if I try to replace the stbof.res file the program crashes when trying to start the game. How can I update the stbof.res for the mod
first you would need to fix this problem then get me the edited files.Darth_Windu wrote:and have the update included in the default installer
Re: DxWnd pre-loaded for BotF (solves most windows 8/10 issues)
I'm having a problem with the game when it launches, actually it does not launch at all when using dxwnd (trek.exe has stoppedblahblah....), OR, when not using dxwnd it throws up the blue screen. I have modified the game a bit, but it does this also on the AFC mod, so, I wonder what might be the problem? error.txt shows nothing, it is not a "normal" ctd the game experiences when the rules are bended for more gameplay (I think this "normal" is because of the 16bit memory/CPU issues).
