wasn't that by intent? I remember warzone failed to launch with spaces in the path

no, the correction was an error on my part reading a constant (registry/install path) used by one of the scripts to add new files to stbof.res.

this new installer uses a newer/quicker 7zip command version, and commands/expressions used changed slightly.

using captaindusk example;

if "D:\Games\Star Trek\BotF\vanilla" was used, it would add files to D:\Games\Star.zip
now it adds files properly to "D:\Games\Star Trek\BotF\vanilla\stbof.res"

as before it is up to user not to use space in install path, if they plan on playing multi-player games

since testing has had limited downloads, I added suggestion to download All in One instead of normal multi installer (on multi installer download page) and All in One downloads has increased greatly since editing.

I just hope those who download take the time to post any issues.

But so far this release looks to be very stable and no issues.

Yeah, I simply haven't posted much feedback because it's worked very well so far. Great job, tc!

My suggestions: Use a checkbox for selecting multiple options to install. Running the installer twice (first for tools then for the mod itself) is not the best solution imho. A full integration of the 1920 Mod would be nice. To keep the file size small you could only include those mods which are used today determined by a survey.

thanks for your input darthmaul,

believe me I wanted to offer this as well, but it had multiple problems,
1. It caused problems with uninstaller, installer creates only one uninstaller for each time it is executed. So if you installed 5 mods at the same time uninstaller would uninstall those same 5 mods. And each mod needs to be able to be uninstalled separately.
2. with all the available options for each mod, some are special and some different, but they also have some overlap, this will causes installer errors.

main reason I want to keep 1920 x 1080 separate, it is a universal/generic backgrounds and would not represent developers GUI.

without knowing exact message I am only guessing, but this sounds like a standard windows message for unknown file.

right click the "BOTF_All_in_One_Rc2.exe" and select properties at bottom.

Microsoft is blocking you from executing file.

from here it is up to you, if you want to proceed with unblocking file.

if you still have issues it could be a different anti virus program blocking it.

Thank you for teaching me something new about Win10. I'm rather sick of it and sorely miss my old XP desktop.

Hi Everyone,

no new release candidate this week,

only issue reported was missing tutorials for vanilla. I consider this a minor issue, so it' does not justify new release.

The downloads have increase this last week greatly (46 downloads for rc1 and 210 downloads for rc2) both within 7 days.

Please keep testing and giving feedback.

thanks you for everyone's efforts and testing

Installing now.

Been looking for a stable system to play multiplayer with. all the mods and vanilla I've played have always had random crashes. they get even worse over network games :(

be sure all players install with same options selected.
Smoothgrandmama wrote:all the mods and vanilla I've played have always had random crashes.
I would love to say all random crashes have been eliminated, but I can't.

multi-player game crashes are mostly caused by user.

the most important thing while playing multi-player game is,
Once the turn button has been selected do nothing. I suggest not even touching mouse again until combat screen or turn process has completed.
looking at a different screen, selecting ships, viewing systems ect, can all cause turn processing crash.
Note; all players need to understand this.

Having an install issue.

Have downloaded twice. I get an error saying the "setup files are corrupted and to obtain a new copy".

I just recently unninstalled all my previous versions including mpr++ and other mods and fixes to get a fresh start.

EDIT:

Looks I got it to work. not sure if the two files were corrupted or not but running another copy from the desktop instead of the download folder is working
